Ok, I gave another listen to that. Still can't understand how you guys like it better than any other versions we had. Buckethead's single chord wah rhythm is as dull as Slash's powerchord in the 2017 live rendition. And Paul Tobias' main riff is buried in the center channel mix.
IMO, there's absolutely no Robin in this version. And the drums reminded me of Josh Freese's tone in the other 1999 leaks.
That's why I think this could be from 2000. And, like Zombux said, by that time the producer was Roy Thomas Baker.

Thanks for PM folks. Great version much better than what ended on Chinese.
Rawer, with more guitars and actual drums. Could have used some rasp but still it`s awesome.
There's far less guitars than the final version.

funny how we here get excited about 16 years old work-in-progress version of a song we already know for like 17 years, have numerous live versions, an official album version and a few other mixes.
sad times, actually.
It's interesting. I like to dig into unreleased stuff like that. I love to read unreleased ideas for Star Wars too.

Yeah, that's what I thought. But then again, nobody was interested in TWAT sans-Bucket solo.

Doesn't sound like Robin. Thought it was too amateur even for Paul. Maybe it was Axl or Pitman.
