I dunno where you are all taking my post as a pot shot...
the only post that really pissed me off was Axlin's and i responded in kind...then edited out the really bad parts, i think axlin read it though but whatever his post made me real mad
anyway nothing in my first post is meant as a pot shot to whatever, olorin the orig post as i started it was in response you your lack of interest with watching fan vids these days...and it was that i agree with you, but i was over watchign that kinda stuff years ago...now you seem to be in the same boat as me now in that regard...it meant nothing more than that...like a welcome to the club sort of post... then i started venting and it sprawled into something else...a more over arking type of post ... i have no qualms with anyone...especially u olorin ...you've aklways seemed to be a really cool guy...so if i offended i'm sorry..i never meant to cause offense to you..in fact i think i actually commended you in my post saying that you are more of a fan than me in my eyes cuz i havent really had an interest to follow online fan shot vids...like ever, so to me that says to me that you are more dedicated than i...
send me an email bono, i have no qualms with you either but i'd like to iron this crap out with you for real on not such a public level ... elfmage19@yahoo.ca
thxi dunno why i post i alway seem to get interpretted as some kind of condesending prick
but i never said i was a "normal fan" ... i know way too much about this band and spend way too much time on this board to be even considered healthy..i just dont download or watch/listen to boots near as much as some of you claim...fuck first thing i do every morning is log on and if there was a show the night before i track down the setllist...and post it...hardly "normal fan" beahviour
Well I completely misunderstood your post then, and I read it a few times... but sorry for taking it the wrong way.
I dont think it is clear, but then I am quite tired, but it did seem like an attack on people, myself included... but again I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. I've never had a problem whatsoever with you, I've always thought you were a cool cat and all round good guy
And for the record I couldnt give a fuck if you were to start getting backstage passes and special privilages from the Shot Girls, and I dont think anyone else would. Seem to remember you met the band backstage in Canada and everyone being genuinally happy for you, you've always been cool with everyone on the boards and thats all I and any other member here cares about.
*edit... Sorry I lied about the Shot Girls, I admit it - I'd be jealous as fuck!

GNR twitter said it in a responce to someones question about that intro. I dont think it sounds different to how its been throughout 09/10 - does sound a bit different to how it sounded in 2006 though.

Seems like theres a hell of a lot of paranoia in the air here lately...
I used the suckle at the teat line, and it clearly wasnt about you, neither could it be mistaken to be about you... so dunno how you came to that conclusion.
Yep I said I'm bored of watching these fan uploads, so what? I also said I'd love an official dvd or something, but really dunno how I feel at the moment can spoil anyone elses good time.
Like I said in my last post in the Chile thread yesterday, I've said my bit and thats that, I'm done with the subject - I wont be banging on and on in every thread shoving my opinion - that I'm bored with this or that - down everyones throat for the next 2 years or whatever.
I have a point of view, changes from time to time, and if its GNR related quite often I'll bring it up in a discussion on my favourite GNR forum, sometimes I wont bother. Some people might agree with me, some wont, some couldnt care less... thats just the way it goes, you've been around this shit forever, you know fine well how it works.
I thought there was good discussions going on this last week or so, there was lots of differing opinions, lots of contributers and it all seemed flow along well enough. If you had any problem with anyones language towards you then you should have called them out on it there and then, this wide vague sweeping statement you've just made about "you guys" is fuckin BS. All the text is still there if you want to take umbridge with any of it, but take your issues out those people specifically. I've got no problem with anything I've said, anyone wants to call me on any of it, go ahead I'm a big boy and I'm sure I can take as good as I give. But I sure as hell dont want to be thrown into some vague rogues gallery of GNREvo detractors.
I said the discussion was good, and it was mostly, but late last night or this morning (or even before I suppose) there seemed to be a hell of a lot of mudslinging going on. Personally I found some of it was well out of order, and had to wonder, where the fucks the mods? Aint it in the "Matra" that the only rule is to be respectful of one another? If people were breaking that rule towards you or anyone else recently, then why wernt you or any of your staff here stepping up and nipping it in the bud?
And what the hells the problem about talking about expectations or disapointments or whatever about this band, seems like a GNR forum would be the best place to bring it up, rather than getting "a fucking grip". Especially for an obsessive lot like us, if people wernt as obsessive about GNR these forums wouldnt exist. Funny you think us obsessive lot make you feel like like nothing more than a passing fan... I'm really suprised at that, seeing as it was the same obsessive lot that clubbed together to pay for a ticket for you so you didnt miss out when GNR were touring in Canada. Pretty sure much of the same conversations were taking place then on GNREvo about our hopes and disapointments regarding GNR , and they were going on long before that, immediately after and continuing on up until today.
Personally I though thats what made this place great, the open discussions - I came here from HTGTH where I was sick fed up of discussions being tampered with or nuked altogether if they werent mindlessly glorifying anything to do with the current GNR, seeing how well it worked here without anyone marshalling the discussions was a big eye opener and a refreshing change.
But looking at it now mabye things have became too lax, especially if yourself and others feel like they are "taking shit" from other members, but again personally I think thats an issue the staff should be dealing with immediately and directly with those involved.

I got slated for this a few years back, probably by the Chinese Democracy is the best produced album of all time crowd on mygnr or htgth, but I think TSI is the best produced GNR album of them all, the sound quality is awesome.

Good for you that you still get a kick out seeing these guys playing Guns N Roses, and I'm not going to say your wrong. I just happen to see it differently now, and to me its just a cover band and a shadow of what Guns N'Roses once was, thats what I meant. They could play the entire UYI's back to back at the next show and Axl has the performance of a lifetime, but they'd still just be filling the shoes of the guys that made history.
I've found this line up has lost its lustre, till the time they start releasing and performing music of their own and we can see what they are really made of, in my eyes it'll just continue looking more and more like nothing else than rather extravagant cabaret act.No disrespect intended, but you say you're not going to say he's wrong, but then you kind of do. He was talking about the rebound from Rio, not if this is a cover band or not. That's what I hope doesn't happen, that every conversation gets dragged into that. This is what I invision all future threads turning into now... I mean, again.
If a new song isn't played, I'm not going to follow the show updates. But I'm not going to get pissed off if they don't. But, its on the setlist. That's what I'm hoping for.
I wanted him to rebound last night from Rio and he did. That makes me happy. And it looked like a great show. I want to see this line up live. I haven't before
I'd love for him to operate differently. There's a lot more important things in life that I hope for. But I can't change it. I WANT NEW SONGS. I'm going to see what happens.
Did I? Didnt mean to, he's got his point of view, I have mine, dont think theres a right or wrong when we are talking bout how we feel. Anyway I'm done, I'll mibbie continue this in the approriate section, seeing as this is the GNR section after all

For me though, Guns N'Roses is my favourite band, but not these guys - the real Guns N'Roses I grew up with.
I thought what Axl was building had so much potential, and the little original material we were exposed to in the early years I loved, so I didnt mind those guys stepping in the shoes of the old guys and being GNR, they were working on taking GNR forward.
But those guys are gone now and its a new cast and it seems like they have even given up the pretense of taking the band forward, digging into the the old bands and other bands discography seems like the height of their ambition and I'm not really down with that.
They are good performers sure and they put on a great show... I guess my problem is that the penny has finally dropped on me, like so many people have said here in the past, they are just the worlds most expensive cover band.Bit of a weak ending to the once mighty Guns N'Roses.
I think we're inchig back into the arm chair psychologist, tea reader thing from Rio again.
I don't think he's lost his drive. I've never understood the way Axl operates and probably never will. I know that every time people call it the end, that he's self destructing, starts writing the bands eulogy or whatever, it ends up not being the case.
I'm sure he doesn't see things the way you or I do.
And they didn't start busting out covers until Ron got in the band. I think he brought them in to have fun and it's become their thing now. I have no problem with it.
There's a new song on the setlist, hopefully we'll hear it.
I'm not trying to spoil anyones enjoyment of what this is and I wont be shitting on anyones good times in the threads of the upcoming tour. This is how I feel now, been building up for quite a while, just expressing it. Feels like the end of an era for me, like Bono I just cant be bothered watching these audience recordings anymore, I'm worn out with them. An official live dvd would be a nice treat, especially after waiting so long for one, personally I think we should all take the hint on that subject as well... it wont happen. But other than that, all I care about is new music from them and dont have an ounce of belief in that possiblity anymore.

the weight issue from Rio was disgustingly over exagerated. I thought it was clear he was bundled up. Looked like he was trying to fit his leather jacket over a hoodie or something. Yeah he's got a double chin but he's 48. If we wanna talk about his look let's talk about the stupid fucking hats he wears. Talk about try hard. Get rid of those. Looks ten times cooler without the hat. Shit he should even ditch the bandana here and there.
And I find it odd that Axl wears sunglasses all the time during all the shows so late in his career. I know that sounds odd coming from a U2 fan considering Bono wears sunglasses nonstop(probably sleeps in them too) But I wonder why Axl has suddenly adopted this. he never wore sunglasses durring the Illusion era or the 2001-2002 era rarely during 2006 but lately he wears them all the time. I wonder if he's self conscious about the work he's had done? Just a question not bagging on him.
from all accounts this seems like it was a much better show. Didn't like his voice in that Whole Lotta Rosie clip though. Tha's the only clip I watched. I gotta honestly say I'm pretty bored with it all. YES I'm still posting, doesn't mean I'm not bored with what the BAND is doing. I don't get bored of the discussion. Still no new material being played just makes me yawn. I have no desire to check out the boots cause really what for? To check out the 763rd version of Welcome to the Jungle?
I think even with the hat it is self consciousness. I wear a baseball cap or a ski hat quite a lot, well known round my part for wearing a hat. But what most dont know is that I get quite self conscious now and then, and I dunno why but putting on a hat sometimes feels like it gives me a wee bit of shelter and I dont feel so exposed. It was worse when I was fat, I got in good shape a few years back and never wore a hat much at all, looking back I was oozing confidence. Now I'm not in good or bad shape, just ok I suppose, but sometimes when I'm leaving the house feeling a bit shitty about myself, I'll be searching around for one of my bunnets to pull on before I head out and face the world

It should have been killed off years ago, used to be the best show on the tv and now they have completely soiled that legacy by releasing series after series of pure garbage for about the last 10 years. When I see The Simpsons is on when flicking through the channels I'll always turn over and have a look, but as soon as I see that slick new animation I realise its a "New Simpsons", and I switch channels immediately. I'll still watch the old ones no matter how often I see them, I still think they are class.
