get real. WHAT has Axl done to maintain or improve the legacy of Guns N' Roses? Yeah that's what I thought. Let's not be goofey here we all know what the reputation of Guns N' Roses was before and after 1994 and if anyone wants to sit there and say witha straight face that Axl hasn't tarnished the legacy well then holy shit pass me the crack pipe.
And No Sky Dogg Slash didn't tarnish the name or reputation of Guns N' Roses by leaving. It's unreal that after all these years some people just can't call a spade a spade. WTF?
Actually I'm not sure Axl really has tarnished the Guns N Roses legacy. In my experience people who aren't really GNR fans hear the name GNR and think back 20 years to what GNR was, SCOM, Jungle, NR Axl/Slash etc. not, despite everything, the CD saga or revolving lineup or Bucket or goth Finck.
I think the last 15 years has maybe tarnished Axls legacy or maybe he's just lived up to it. I certainly don't think he's enhanced the GNR legacy since Slash has left but the old lineup acheived too much, it would seem, for Axls post Slash activities (or lack of) to harm the legacy too much in the mind of the casual.

I genuinely don't get the drama over the Bridge School shows, he had some bad spots but he also had some good, I thought You're Crazy sounded great. From the clips I've heard of Vegas he sounded great, much more vintage Axl, he was always hit and miss even in the old days, so 20 years on bad nights are to be expected. However as the clips from Vegas show, when he's on he's still got it in spades.
As for the setlist meh, give it til show 6/7 and see where we are, it's hard to show that you have a rotating changing setlist on night one of twelve.

Saw Skyfall last night, liked it a lot, much better than QoS (not hard). I wouldn't say it's as good as Casino Royale but it's a close run thing. A few nice nods to Bonds of the past for the 50th anniversary. Bardem is an excellent villain, camp yet menacing in equal measure. Loved the films climax as well, not a traditional Bond finale in that it felt more like Bond meets Home Alone for a period, but I liked it all the same. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Ralph Fiennes in the next films as well.

ACII is a hell of a game, the two add ons aren't as good but maybe offer better game play however to get the overall feel and experience of AC then number II is the way to go, it's decent length as well.
Can't wait for ACIII but I may have to keep patient until xmas sadly.

I'd be interested to know about what was said re Axl and Baz.
Ali, male or female? On this site, law of averages says male, we're not exactly awash with oestrogen round here.
Except when Buzz and ID are having a catfight....
Anway back on topic, good interview, all these little things make such a difference, Axl could have built up such a better rep for himself amongst the public and even his own fans if he'd done a few more of these over the years.

I thought that was pretty good. Axl seemed more comfortable the longer the interview went on which was understandable, thought he came off great though and the audience were really onside as well.
The general public should see that side to him more often, great PR for him personally and GNR as a whole.

So I watched some of the videos expecting a car crash of biblical proportions which for me honestly never came, not the best GNR performance I've seen from either band or Axl but far from the abomination some are declaring it as. Better was weak but then I've yet to hear a great live rendition of it in 6 years.
Gotta say I'm staggered at the doom mongers in this thread and how disappointing it is to see long time members who go months between posts jump in as soon as GNR do something to predictabley tell everyone how shit it was.

We just saw Taken 2 and it was FAR better than all the reviews have said.
Saw this at the weekend as well. I'd stayed clear of reviews so went in with an open mind having loved the first film. Gotta say I was dissappointed, just didn't have the depth or suspense of the first one, then just as it is picking up, it ends. Massive anti-climax for me. Have a feeling they were leaving it open for a Taken 3 with some of the closing dialogue as well.

Well if the organizators are saying it then it must be true!

Runaway is probably the rockiest song on the album. The rest is mostly very slow tempo'd no real big anthems to speak of. Still some catchy choruses that you will be singing for the rest of the day but overall it's more Day And Age than a Sams Town or Hot Fuss.
