Wow...this has been an insane couple of weeks.  The shopping center shootings, the shooting at that mayor's office, the shooting at the elementary school and now this one.  Seems like I may even be forgetting one.  Crazy how these things seem to come in waves.

Scott is heading down the same road Layne Staley did.  I hope he can turn it around but it isn't looking good for him.  Scott and I share the same birthday (October 28th) so in some weird way it's almost like he is someone I know, I mean that sort of feeling anyway.  I"ve lost some friends to drugs and I have been down some dark roads myself in the past, it's a tough demon to beat.  Good luck to Scott getting off this train before it finally crashes.

There were a few trailers for this movie around the same time as the remake of Halloween.  Looked like it may be good, I think it was going to be a few short tales kind of like a Creepshow type of thing but all dealing in Halloween themed tales.  Anybody know what happened with this?  I think it may have made it to theaters but I haven't heard anything about a dvd release.

The album could be finished and if it is I wouldn't be surprised if it is still in the clutch's of Axl's hands.  The problem with this is as long as Axl is in possession of this album he will be tempted to change something else...thus the album will never be done.

I thought it would be fun to have a thread about misunderstood lyrics.  There's no easier way of feeling like a horse's ass than to be tossing back a few suds with some friends, hear a song you like and start belting out some lyrics...only to have someone give you "that look" and start cracking up because the lyrics were wrong!

One of mine:  When I first heard Breakdown (yes I was too damned lazy to read the lyrics) I thought Axl was saying "Everybody wants to sell you a different buyer"....I was like "WTF???"

I really do think this is one movie the should really leave the fuck alone.   This movie was a breakthrough in a different type of horror movie where the story was very unique,  to redo it, it will never match up to the original.    And for what, to cast a hot looking cast 17

I definitely do not want this one to be remade either, the first one is a classic even though most of the sequels past 2 were not very good.  The fact that they would dare cast someone other than England to play Freddy makes this project obscene!

As far as it being unique and original it really wasn't for the most part.  Many think this was the first movie of its kind but a very good movie came out three months prior to the release of Nightmare on Elm Street called Dreamscape.  It doesn't have the same exact storyline but there are many similarities.  In Dreamscape a government funded project tests the idea of using psychics to enter other people's dreams.  Some of these test subjects learn that they can alter what happens in the person's dreams they enter.  To make a long story short (and I don't want to give away the whole story so I won't be very detailed) a bad guy happens to be in this group and a particular group wants to use his power toward the assassination of someone else.  Because if you die in your dream...guess what?  You die for real.

Anyone who hasn't seen this movie should definitely watch it.  Besides the obvious similarities in the storyline there are many scenes that look just like something out of a Nightmare on Elm Street movie.  I do like Nightmare better but this movie is very good itself and it came first.

Music Bank is great, I own it.  Besides the previously unreleased stuff you also have some different recordings of classic AIC songs.  The main ones that come to mind are Bleed the Freak/Killing Yourself/Sea of Sorrow/Rooster and Junkhead. The demo of Rooster is actually better than the version that made Dirt in my opinion.  There's also a couple of remixes.  It comes with a nicely done color booklet that tells a little background about each track on the three discs and also a fourth disc that includes a cd rom game called "The Journey" the video for Get Born Again and Jar of Flies (cd-extra multimedia). Strange thing is I've never got around to checking out the bonus disc so I can't say  if it's good or not.

For thirty bucks I'd buy it again but I'm huge Chains fan.  For others who are more of an occassional listener then you're basically paying 30 bucks for a disc worth of unreleased tracks, demos and a couple of remixes.  The bonuses being the booklet and the fourth disc.  Still not bad.

My order of favorites would be:  Dirt/Facelift/Sap/Jar of Flies/Tripod (nickname for the self titled album with the pic of the three legged dog) and Unplugged.

I hate the idea they are going with Alice in Chains personally.  Layne added something very special to that group that can't be replicated.  I would prefer the "Jerry Cantrell Project" or "The Chains"...something like that.

I have many unreleased demos and live stuff by AIC, some that are amazing and even better  than the stuff that made it to the live album release and Music Bank.  I've been wrapped up in some things going on at the homefront the past couple of weeks but I'll try my best to upload some good Chains for anyone who would like it in the near future.
