#901 Re: Guns N' Roses » RRHoF Discussion (Izzy/Slash/Axl Press Statements) » 738 weeks ago

I can't see them playing, if there was a chance they'd be playing then the PR machine would go with either a 'will they/won't they' type thing or just say they're playing for maximum viewers etc. Just having everybody ruling out a performance doesn't make sense unless it just aint happening.

Having said that imagine how much it would stir things up now if Axl came out and said he wouldn't be against playing something.

Seems a weird comment to make now though, I don't think anybody really expected to see GNR at Leeds/Reading for the forseeable future anyway considering they only played last year. Why bothr bringing up something that's a total none issue for at least 3-4 years anyway. If there was a reunion my money would be on Glastonbury getting them anyway, more money exposure etc.

As a coincidental aside Mr Benn (lol) is supposedly a first class twat anyway going from people I know who have dealt with him.

Tickets booked!

There were no standing tickets available for Manchester by 9.15am!

In light of me getting less than I had expected this month, pay wise. It looks like I will have to be waiting until the end of May to buy tickets... by which point they may all be gone. £50 is a LOT of money and more than I was expecting in all honesty. How they can charge that high a price for this incarnation of GN'R I don't know.

If enough people will pay £50 to see them they'll charge it. Pretty full houses at the last two UK tours obviously indicated they could get away with the price increase.

Guns N' Roses have announced a short UK tour to follow their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Axl Rose's troupe of hard rockers will return to England and Scotland for the first time since their disastrous Reading and Leeds festival gigs in 2010.

Minor nitpick but Reading and Leeds were in August 2010, I saw GNR in Manchester in October 2010, they'd been round half of Europe in between. I also seem to remember the UK tour (rather than the two festival dates) being very well reviewed.

Whatever, should be used to it by now....

Anyway, glad to see their going to be back, fingers crossed they keep Estranged in the setlist til May 29th.

Apparently it's called the 'Nightrain' tour, has been called that in the rest of the world?

So Gilby, Dizzy and Matt will be there as well apparently? Not that I begrudge them being there, they've all played their role but if touring musicians from 92/93 get to be there where do we draw the line? There's a strong case for people like BH and Finck to be at the GNR table if Gilby gets to be there.

Quite simple. You draw the line at touring musicians from 1992-1993 and those who recorded on Gn'R albums durring the height of their popularity. You do NOT include post 1994 members at all.  there is NOT a strong case to be made for anyone post 1994. Nobody post 1994 contibuted to the legacy that is responsible for Gn'R being inducted. BH and Finck have fuck all to do with why they are being inducted. Sure Gilby, Dizzy and Matt don't have as much to do with it as the original 5 but they have much more to do with it than post 1994 members do because post 1994 members have NOTHING whatsoever to do with it.   As much as some of you want to believe it the FACT is CD and those who recorded on it has no impact on the RRHOF induction. It played no part. END OF STORY.

You can bold as many words as you want i still think a guitarist who plays and wrote on a whole album of original material still trumps a two year touring guitarist who has not a single original gnr note to his name.

For the record i'm playing devils advocate more than anything, i dont think for a minute Finck should be sat at the GNR hall of fame induction. However my point above still stands, if Gilby can be there then there's a case for Finck et al.
