#911 Re: Guns N' Roses » Favorite GN'R Song Of All-Time » 746 weeks ago
My favourite GNR song has changed a few times depending on the mood/situation I'm in at the time I guess. Breakdown was my favourite song for a while.
I always end up coming back to Estranged and You Could Be Mine though they are my two ultimate favourites.

I vaguely remember an interview with pitman just after CD came out and it did appear his overall contributions to GnR in the CD era are bigger than most realised. Obviously he's going to big himself up in an intertview but it did sound like he was more pivitol than hes generally given credit for by the fans.

I'm kinda questioning the casting of Hathaway also, especially if she just recycles Selina Kyle in Returns.
As for Rachel Dawes
Katie Holmes = better "look" for the role, i.e. hotter
Maggie Gyllenhaal = FARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR better actress for the role
That's my point though, MG may well be the better actress with a better resume (I've seen very little else she's been in) but she didn't show it in TDK. Like Russ said, she was a whiny smartass and the performance was wooden imo. Holmes firstly as we said fitted the role better in terms of looks, girl next door who grew up and got hot type thing but she also played the role better, it felt much more natural.

I've resisted the prologue so far but I think i'll cave soon. Cannot wait for this film.

So did I, neither were excellent but i had no problem with holmes in the role. Kinda shallow but i just didnt buy MG as Rachel, we're meant to be believe she had the two most powerful/eligable bachelors in the city competing for her affections? No chance! Combine that with a fairly wooden performance and Holmes wins hands down for me.

Perhaps it's already been discussed but I was just looking through the tour dates and noticed they didn't play MSG. Is anyone else surprised at this?
#918 Re: Guns N' Roses » Guns N 'Roses will play in Poland! » 754 weeks ago
if this is happening it'll coincide w/the european football championship which is being hosted by poland & the ukraine.. i'm maybe gonna head over for the tournament & it'd be fun to take in Guns on that trip.
I noticed that too, I wonder if there's a link. To have a date announced 6 months ahead of time in the back of beyond of Poland seems a little odd to me.

Massive amount of respect to you Ron.
One of the best things to happen to GNR in the last 20 years.

Axl came out well and he could have been pushed more. The video thing was bullshit though, just a white PR lie.
I noticed he still said 'yet' as though we may still get the Better video at some stage
It was great to see Axl talking and in good spirits but the interview was poor for the reasons already mentioned. There were gaping holes left after some answers Axl gave and they just moved on. I think even the most neutral of viewers would have been frustrated at their inability to push on and ask a followup question.
In their defence they'd probably been up 30 straight hours at that point so I guess it is understandable they weren't firing on all cylinders.
It's a shame but who knows with new management maybe this won't be just a one off and media appearances etc might be a bit more frequent.
