tough question... while i'm really excited  that axl may make good on his claim to eventually release a "better" vid.. and re-release CD with more tracks(?) and different art..... i'm still extremely intrigued by the VR singer search...
whomever they get.. he'll have to be perfect in order to calm the concerns of the fans....

(i read that john bush(formerly of anthrax) was a possibility....?

I disagree - i think the final episode is a masterpiece.

And yes, Tony was killed - I can't see how anyone could think of it being otherwise. Who killed him and why? Well it was the sketchy looking guy sitting at the bar glancing over who went into the bathroom of course. Could have been hired by anyone - it's not like either would be a shortage of people wronged or disgruntled by Tony over the years. One popular theory was that it was the brother of the guy who had the windfall or inheritance who tried to leave (and Tony wouldn't let go) and then hung himself.

It's beside the point really. Tony had the chance to redeem himself and make his life better after surviving being shot by Junior and he failed to do so ultimately.

There are so many indicators that point to his death in that last brilliant scene.

leave it to some spam asshole to bring this thread back up^......
this is what i'd like to think as well... i'm so conflicted.. i love the show.. i hate it... all at he same time... but this is definitely what i thought at first and my dumb ass fucking wife somehow talked me out of it......
good call 'gent.....

5 oclock is one of my all time fave albums so this is a bit of a shock for me

I think that might be why so many people have issues with Ain't Life Grand.  You go in liking the 1st album, and it ends up being an entire different beast.  Whereas 5 O'Clock is as close to what a Guns album without Axl's input would sound like, ALG is about as experimental as Slash gets, with a little more funk influence in places etc.

Similiarly, I understand why so many people aren't into new-GNR, it's sorta the same thing.  If you liked GNR mostly for the 80's-ish hard rock aspects, then Chinese Democracy isn't necessarily for you.

bingo...
i loved 5oclock....

i had to listen to ALG dozens of times before i started to appreciate it.....

i agree.. definitely more ambitious... for FNM... which is a good thing.
vocal performance for me... definitely one of his best...
it just seemed a little...i dunno... blah.. for FNM... pretty damn good for any other patton release....
aoty is  not even close to "ambitious".... but it's a damn good, cohesive album....
lots of killer vocal melodies... heavy shit... soft shit... it all fits together and the music is sick....
kfad seems like 14 random tracks...ironically like angel dust with jim martin surgically removed.  which is a disservice to the more mediocre tracks on the record. someone like jim could have added a bit more to the sound.. which i think the songs desperately needed....i think that's why AOTY sounds the way it does... and then it was the end.
trying to pull off what they did with AD and TRT... and KFAD.... the metal ish stuff mixed with random bits of other shit didn't have the same effect, sonically... that it did with martin playing fiddle... so they went for a simpler.. more streamlined sound.. then maybe between the infighting and growing bored with their newfound limitations..  they called it a day....

looks interesting..... it'll surely have everything that van halen doesn't have anymore.... 'cept gary cherone
...and valerie bertinelli

as much of a van hagar fan as i am definitely NOT... i wanna hear this ..... just so's i can hear a mike anthony background vocal or two...and some decent guitar work...jk.. love ya ed

#917 Re: The Sunset Strip » Faith No More Reunion CONFIRMED » 890 weeks ago

after posting on this thread.. i've been living on KFAD and AOTY....

amazing stuff... at the same time they were doing completely different shit.... they were also becoming a tad more accessible to rock radio (digging the grave... last cup of sorrow..etc)
truthfully.. i don't think there's a bad song on album of the year.... mouth to mouth...ashes to ashes...collision...great record
king for a day...not so much.... there seems to be a TON of filler on it...
maybe this is why i was initially so disappointed by the martin departure.. it sounds so.... anonymous.... get out is just awful... and other than 3 or 4 tracks(which ARE amazing).... front to back, it's pretty sub par to my ears...."happy birthday...fucker"..
