I have no interest in a Slash solo album, he isn't the kind of guitarist that can carry a band anymore and he isn't a good song writer either.

I strongly disagree with that...I think his performance of the snakepit records outplays gnr in places - in terms of carrying the band.

Hmmmmm.........Why would a supposedly sober Weiland be afraid to take a blood or urine test? When one gets a drivers license, you sign the paper saying the police can test you for alchohol/drugs if they suspect you to be under the influence while driving. If you refuse the tests, i think you lose your license for a year or two(not sure in Cali). Why would Weiland want to lose his driving priviledges for such a longtime if he had nothing to hide?

I've heard of people doing similar things on principle alone.

Or

Another possibility could be that he is using some substance, but wasn't at the time of the accident, but didn't want to take a test that might show traces of the previous days illegal usage.

Hey Monkeychow - doesn't this sound just like the Ben Cousins saga 16

hhahahahaha!!! I was thinking the exact same thing last night!!!

Sounds like a blast. I'm so going to vegas one day.

I'd love to see VR continue on without Scott. But to be honest I don't think its at all likely given the amount of shit they had trying to find a singer last time. I think they were basicly out of singer ideas - like who to try out next. Slash seems keen in his book about the 'Slash and Friends' album - so i'd expect that to happen next.

Mysterion posted this on 12/1 on HTGTH in the Baz "axl really wanted CD out this year" thread

I'm sure the intention is to release the new album as soon as possible.

As for now though, nothing is scheduled or planned.

I've never been one to completely believe him and I've stated that before.  If nothing is planned then that would mean what, the recored company has nothing planned or Axl has nothing planned.

The maddening thing about Mysteron is the way he never really answers the deeper questions. Ok...so he has previously said the album is finished, now says  the desire is there to put it out, but they have no date in the works to do so. but WHY?

it still kinda shitty that there was a case for slash and not for axl.

I'd expect it's because that kind of display tends to be somewhat fickle and trend driven doesn't it? Like at the moment slash is in the media alot cos VR have been touring (until this drug incident), then theres the book publicity, and of course the saturation campaigning (at least in Australia) about guitar hero 3 comming out. So he is kinda fresh in the mind. Meanwhile Axl has had a relatively quiet year in comparision, he did a sucessful tour of Australia and stuff, but he hasn't been as all over the media as Slash at the moment.
But I wouldn't see it as them entering into a Slash vs Axl debate..maybe they just rotated it cos it would look good at the newest store or something.

I wouldn't sweat it, at the end of the day in rock history, Slash will be looked upon as one of the greatest guitarists of our age, and Axl will be remembered as one of the greatest front men and vocalists.

The thing about junkies is that they've never really kicked it for good, they've only ever kicked it for each day at a time. There's always a potential to undo it all in any given second.

This is terrible news, both for scott and his family, and the extended band, and fans of the band.

It will be interesting to see how Slash and Duff respond to this. One one had, as former drug users themselves they will have a lot of sympathy for exactly how easy it is to get stuck on drugs. Then again from his book it seems Slash doesn't like it when people's fucking around messes up their work - and canceling a tour due to drugs is not going to be considered cool at all with him I don't think.

I just hope the worst doesnt happen..and that Slash and or Duff let this setback to their band cause them to also have a relapse....Slash in particualr seems to functon best when he has a project. So if this does mean the end of VR - lets hope he gets stuck straight into the 3rd Snakepit record.

But I still hope somehow VR can rise above this....

What's the justice system in the usa like? Is Scott looking at guarenteed jail time now?

Yep, that was health reasons.

Also the Japan dates

Nov. 26 - Zepp - Osaka, Japan
Nov. 27 - Zepp - Nagoya, Japan
Nov. 29 - Blitz - Yokohama, Japan
Nov. 30 - Nihon - Budokan - Tokyo, Japan

I'm thinking maybe he went and got high cos he was pissed off about the Japan visa. That's all the excuse a junkie would need. And i'll give them...scot being back on drugs is a 'health reason' for the aussie cancelations.
