Although...you could keep its mythalogical status that way...like say you arn't releasing CD but another album, then if that is shit canned...say all the good stuff was on CD
But i agree it would be a little bit crazy!!

Good on you. I agree, I dont like Libertad as much - but I've seen them twice this year and the gig at Download festival was really good. One of those occasions where the sound, the crowd, the band, everyone and everything was 110% and they sounded amazing. will look forward to hearing your review
Where in Australia are you seeing them?
Yeah..i suspect I'll like the libertad material more live, as thats what happened with CB to me. Slash is just awesome in person. I'm going to sydney and melbourne....so i'll be able to stalk our sydney members like Metallex78 LOL

Hmm..i might be too tired....but is he saying that cos the record industry is fucked therefore he has no interest in recording new material?
What the fuck is that? He only does it for the money? Why not record something new to progress the art or just cos its a kickass song that needs to be shared?
Don't get me wrong, i'm not suggesting its wrong for musos to want to get paid, or be about the money to an extent, but at the same time, surely he already has millions of $, so its not like he's desperate for cash...so it seems a bit that theres not much love of the music behind him.

I think its also the lack of marketing...like I dunno about in Sydney but here in Melbourne I've heard jack shit about this tour...if i wasn't a forum goer i wouldnt even know about it...

I thought he wasn't allowed in for the same reason he wasn't allowed into the UK...
Being stupid enough to bring drugs from country to country with him...
Well kinda...but it seems to be the criminal record that was the real problem

"A spokeswoman for Mr Andrews said that, when Dogg came to Australia in February, the Department of Immigration told him it was concerned about his previous convictions, and, if he was convicted of anything else, it would be taken "very seriously".
"Since that time he has been convicted of drug and firearm offences, which has effectively caused the minister to be particularly reluctant to provide a visa for him," she said.
Earlier this month the rapper pleaded no contest to felony, gun and drug charges in a US court, avoiding possible jail time."

I wonder if this puts the aussie shows at risk. Like it may not be cost effective to come down under if you can't stop in at Japan on the way. As it is theres so much travel and landmass involved in touring Australia for so few places to do a show.

I'd beleive it...Australia has an issue with Snoop Dog comming in.
Since the fear of terrorism caused us give away most of our freedom, they don't bend visa rules just cos your famous anymore.

"CD stores are going out of business to the point where it is getting really fucking scary to be a musician. You can download it, but you are gonna miss out on the full sound of the CD, which is way better than MP3 sound."
Amen...to that!!
To be honest I can see Baz's point. Like Axl is his friend, a musican who he respects, and plays on his album. Why wouldn't you go on about it? I think people just get mad cos it contrasts badly with the lack of updates from Axl in relation to CD. But you can't blame baz for that.
And Baz's band is awesome...those guys can really play!!

It's all good and well to be a 'perfectionist', but starting hours late detracts so much from the overall quality of the show, once can hardly be accused of being a perfectionist when one does so.
Does it though? I think the show will be better when the musicians are in the mood to play the show. Like I think Axl would perform better when (after a 3 hr wait or whatever) he is actually in the frame of mind where he feels he can deliver a good performance and wants to play the songs, rather than if he turned up on time, had emotional problems on his mind the whole time but just faked it and ran through the motions for the audience....
