I see where you're coming from, but I just don't think it's that big a deal. He's a fan of Guns N' Roses. He was a fan before he joined the band. He's basically paying homage to the guys that came before him. Is that so wrong?

Would of been cool for the guys in the tribute band, probably quite an honour for them playing with a current GNR member. I suspect Bumblefoot knew that and thats why get got up and jammed with them.
Just because blabbermouth ran one of their shitty articles bringing a little attention to Bumbles solo career doesn't mean Axl has to fire him 
If Axl would grow a pair none of the fans would even bother talking about this, as it is we're left with sweet fuck all from uncle Axl which is why everyone seems to be reading into this a little too much.

I see no problem with this. Ron played wtih them for fun - not to earn some cash, not to promote himself, just for fun. Seems like he respects the band's dedicated fans, which is a good thing.
I agree that it's weird to see him on stage with a fat Slash clone though.

so, a tribute gnr band is playing a show and the current guitar player of the band took the time to jam with them for a couple of songs and you start complaining. you never cease to amaze me dear gnr fans.
they were some guys having some fun jamming together. where's the tragedy? don't you have something else to worry about, like an album supposed to come out in the last 14 years?

Its a bit weird him playing with a gnr tribute band but maybe we're reading a bit too much into this - it was probably a spontaneous moment for a bit of fun.

I can see why people complain about this, and why people defend it. Personally I think it's wrong because I do not see Ron as a part of GNR. And it's not his fault. Somebody else is making sure we see everyone in that band except him as non relevant and not GNR. To me Ron happens to play in a tribute band that has the original singer of of the band that is being paid hommage. That's the problem. But nice of him to jam with those guys.

I pretty much agree with this. The thing that I find weird is what must he be thinking when hes up there with guys paying tribute to a band which, in that form, doesnt exist anymore. There wasnt anyone up there playing tribute to the current band and that must smart a little for one of the new guys. Its cool that guys can get up and play with tribute bands or whatever for a bit of fun, but in this case it just seems inappropriate and bizarre.
Still, its nice to seem him and Slash sharing a stage.
