just listened to catcher and im reasonably happy with that
I love that song
Am surprised at how similar it is to what we've had and it's clear that is the same vocal. So obviously that vocal has been a wrap for almost a decade
The bass is quite busy (especially on the intor) and the dis-chordant, floating type feel has ratcheted up a notch.
As for the guitar solo? Similar but obviously not May - Im thinking perhaps Fortus is taking lead on this one? Think I prefer Mays solo, but this is ok.
Outo soloing is nice. The clipping is truly horrendous, makes it close to unlistenable

lol, well yeah, there are certainly some layers going on
One thing I did notice from Catcher is the clutter in the intro
the 'will he over-produce it' question that we've been debating for years now seems to have been answered
Listening to SOD now and am liking what Im hearing - more guitar... seems to be a bit more balanced although still not quite what i was hoping 5 years ago
As for the intro - kind of a mix between the big and the reserved one I guess

I haven't even listened to Street of Dreams yet.
Yeah, that CITR intro rubs me the wrong way. The song gets off on the wrong foot and sort of just plods along.
I was very vocal about the song needing changes, but now that we've heard the final version, I wish they had stuck to its original format.
If CITR is a single, its B side should be that demo.

yeah, i tend to agree
the original is better
perhaps we just need to adjust though?
I was thinking the CD demo we had was better than the single up until a few days ago, but then the penny dropped and now I couldnt imagine the song any other way

so the intro to Scraped that everyone is saying is so bad is that A Capella Axl part??

the intro to scraped is great imo, the entire song is great. best rocker on the album.
