A 2006 release would've been MUCH different, with the publicity and Axl being out and about. At least in comparison to 2008. But the iron was at it's hottest in 2001-02.

Well it would have sold better in 01/02. But the band were a laughing stock. In 2006 they had a small chance at being "cool" or "relevant"

01-02 = laughing stock (failure)
06 = more cool, same album we basically got (failure)
08 = failure

Looks about the same to me.  wink

I just think in 2002 or 2006, they could've doubled CD's sales, at least.

They're highest sales would have came in 2002 because of curiostiy. Contraband is proof enough that in the first few years of the 00's people were interested in any GN'Rish releases. However the look of this lineup was laughable- with Bucket, Robin and Axl's jerseys being the problem.

In 2006 sales would not have been as high but still quite succesful and the band was marketable and in the long run could have been the most succesful new incarnation of GN'R.

In 2008 well we got an album release with no promo and no lineup to market. Ultimately the worst scenario for CD's relase.
