Re: Rumored South American dates around RIR

It don't cost much to record tracks. Axl's got a studio and royalties from AFD alone could pay his studio fees for the rest of his life.

There is no excuse for GNR having not already recorded with DJ.

That said.

I seriously doubt they have.

Yeah I'm gussing on Axl's income it's all very doable.

I read somewhere top level mixers are like $100k an album - which puts them out of my league but probably small change at GNR's level.

I have nothing to base this on, total speculation.  But it could be that Axl can't get the treatment/deals that he was once accustomed to in the US.  I find it hard to believe they CAN'T tour, in some fashion in the US.  I don't care how much pull Azoff has.  I think it's more that Axl can't get the money, etc. to make it worthwhile compared to what they can do in South America.  They're still hugely popular there, and are paid premium prices to play in front of stadium sized crowds.  It's more profitable for them, the crowds are more receptive.  You may not be far off, with Axl hating America.  I think he hates how he's generally perceived by the casual American rock fans and by the media.

South America LOVES them and is probably pound-for-pound GNR's best fans overall in the world.

However, more non-U.S. shows... is - roll

Last time I freaked out about SA getting more shows, I looked like a douche, so i'm trying to see it from both sides.

yea it is (increasingly) embarrassing that they can't/won't tour their own homeland

but SA shows makes sense on many levels

it a shame we all can't have our cake & eat it.. but that's how he wants it.. well he gets it. i don't like it any more than you men..

At least there's something to watch after the NBA finals are over.

There are 2 more rumored dates for early October, in Paraguay and Bolivia.  Apparently more should be known by the end of the week on if they're legit.
