I’m on the San Miguel and wine. There’s to do but drink when in quarantine.

I’ll give you guys a heads up from that Slash interview - Slash isn’t the problem.

Yup, Slash releases albums all the time, its only when you add a fat red head to mix that things suddenly become difficult

Hardly any of Slash’s work outside Guns would make it on a GNR album. To me it’s more about how good a GNR album should be than a Axl problem. If Slash and Duff wrote AFD every year and Axl just had to sing it would be easy.

Album: Postcards from a Young Man - Manic Street Preachers (this is what the next GNR album will be like, Duff plays bass on Balconies on this album)

Song: Rainier Fog - Alice In Chains (one of the few songs that made it move a little this decade)

TV: Mindhunter - didn’t annoy me as much as TD.

Movie: Hell or High Water (2016)

Drink: Gin

I think they might play something new live towards the end of this year to light the fuse for 2021. 1991-2021. Then release the album just after Rock in Rio.

The real problem we have is they don’t need to put out anything. But I think maybe pride is a motivating factor but being men they may have other priorities.

Given Guns’ past writing history they have always used multiple writers, Slash and Duff were never huge writers. There’s quite often someone else in the mix. Slash has a couple of credits on AFD and few solo things on UYI. But it was never a Axl/Slash writing team. The creative process seems like total chaos.

But Slash and Duff seemed to take on the songs and rework them, even on AFD Izzy had a bunch of songs and Slash re did them. SCOM was Axl lyrics and Izzy cords at first.

So giving Slash a load of ideas to work off is nothing new. It seems to take him out of his comfort zone too. A lot VR and solo is repetitive. GNRis great because it has all these elements, it just probably takes longer to pull them to together. Slash is talented enough to do his stuff and Izzy and Axl’s. So I don’t think a few CD era songs will phase him. I doubt Slash could write a GNR album on his own anyway, it would be too premeditated and stale.

They will be some, Fortus already said he was working on an old Slash riff (Hardschool).
I expect a lot of stuff we’ve heard of but re-done somehow. Atlas will be at Catcher levels but maybe with Slash on solo duties.

Fortus didn't mention Hardschool, you're post is misleading. We have no indication nor we have any evidence Hardschool was an old band material.

As far as we know it's a ChinDem era song.

Hardschool sounds nothing like Slash riffing. That’s just speculation that it’s a Slash riff right Otto

It’s really just the only song it could be at this point. It pure speculation as far as I know. But HS does have that legit GNR sound feel. Tbh it doesn’t sound unlike the Dirty little thing riff, so saying it’s not Sash is misleading. Is it Finck? Who is it?

Fortus definitely said he was working on a Slash origin riff before the reunion happened.

I meant to put a question mark by HS as that has some Jackie Chan potential. But who knows what Fortus was talking about. Tommy also said things about when he came in they working on old band material. Fortus said older stuff was now in the mix not just CD era stuff.

But overall we know Fortus has been working on material for years. I feel like he should’ve been grilled more in interviews about what he says. Dizzy was saying they close to release in 2016. I assume some work had been done past what we may have heard. Fortus seemed to be in the loop for that, whereas Dj did stuff off to the side like Ron did.
