Yeah the dolphin thing gave me a laugh.

Look if I was them I'm not sure I would charge fans for meet and greet I would rather do it for nothing as a nice gesture.

But I don't blame artists these days for looking at other avenues to make a buck because you aren't gonna get rich from album sales anymore.

Yes it's a complete about face on the issue. But it's funny as I was looking thru those Axl chats again looking for that quote, I noticed Axl making judgements on things or opinions of  Slash from 20 years ago. Saying Sash hated Sweet chid or AFD, or he thought this and said that during the post UYI sessions or whatever.  Axl has done a 180 degree turn on this issue in 3 years, can't others change their mind or point of view. Hopefully he allows them that grace to change position too over time and not hang them for shit from years ago. If he can that bodes well for a civil RNRHOF.

I remember Axl criticizing meet and greets before and the artists that charge for them.

They're pretty lame to be honest.

Paid meet n' greets are totally lame. Thumbs down.

I agree, but if people are willing to pay, then why not?  Artists don't make crap off of record sales anymore these days, so they have to find different ways to turn a profit.

Agree, that's why when people say $lash or xyz band is a sellout I think it's crap. Unfortunately in todays music environment you need to be innovative and look at other means to make a dollar compared to the traditional ways.

Maybe Axl is just beginning to figure that out.

If they are pressing ahead with a website you must think it means they have plans of some sort for the future, which can only be a good thing.

Maybe you will get Fernando or Jarmo. He can then tell you that you shouldn't expect anything, and that the band doesn't owe you anything for the ticket you bought and if you don't like it your not a real supporter, so you can go to another bands meet and greet from now on coz your banned. 16

I clicked on It and it had dates and tour VIP packages:

Guns N' Roses VIP Package
P1 Ticket
Meet and Greet with select member of Guns N' Roses
VIP Party Room
VIP Catering
2 Drink Tickets
Guns N' Roses T-Shirt
VIP Host
VIP Collectible souvenir tour laminate

$275

Seems like he has changed his tune on meet and greets, not that I would expect him to be there, I'm sure he would still have to ok it.

To quote from the Axl chats:

And people may enjoy meet and greets and have their reasons why it meant a lot for them which I respect but overall charging fans for it I thinks disgusting of bands. Now if they did it for free to winners of a contest etc that would be different. Charging is lame. How to meet bands? Maybe try to hang out places u might hear they do sometimes.

How the hell did you get them?

Oh and Dougy Goldstein with his awards, thats hilarious. No wonder Slash loathes that guy.

I got one through a collector who managed to score about 6 of them.  The other one I bought on ebay for a Buy It Now price of $9.99 US.  18

I know I couldn't believe it when I saw it either!!
