He's doing better now and tout'ed a photo of himself.  I hope he gets better.  That was really scary as you could hear some of it on air.

FWIW, I've been watching some mid90s WWF stuff and Lawler was gold in them.  He just started dropping cultural references left and right.  It annoyed the heck out of Vinnie Mac.  It is far better than his more noticable late 90s-early part of the decade stuff with Jim Ross.

I always enjoyed his 1993 feud with Bret Hart.  He played such a great villan in that feud.  I can't leave out the late 90s ECW feud as well.  That one was well done too.

Frankly, an overall lazy and uninspired effort.

Yeah, I was bored watching this as well.

On another point, who blocked the video on the 1st or 2nd page?  Was it actual GNR management or the same asshole who does it everytime?

Fucking Demps... Fucking DEMPS!!!! You are no longer my break out player... Or secret weapon. Thanks a lot.

I don't care if the Dolphins suck this year, but please, if you're going to suck, suck it large. Get the first pick and get a crazy deal for Barkley. Then pick MINGO!

I have a feeling that The Rams are going to make a play for Barkley. Fisher has a hard on for all things USC, Bradford isn't his guy... They have a shitload of picks to work with. I think it could happen, especially if Bradford has a down year and gives them an excuse.

You've watched the man coach before.  You know his MO.  He'll overachieve with shitty/mediocre teams and underachieve with good/great teams.  He get between 6-8 wins out of the Rams.  That'll put their pick in the 8-16 range.  Now the real question is whether or not the Redskins will stink enough for the Rams to get enough ammo to trade for the top pick.  More likely Fisher will just take the best available OT.  They don't really need a DE.  And I can't for the life of me see him spending a Top 10 pick on a WR.

Chris Johnson is absolutely worthless.  I can't wait for the Titans to jettison his ass after the year.  The Titans haven't beat SD ever.  The last time the franchise won in SD was in 1990 when they were known as the Houston Oilers.  I'm not feeling real good about their chances since Ryan Matthews practiced in pads today and their run D stinks.

And I started Cutler today in my FF league over Matt Stafford.:headbang:

Last comment/question:  Why does Mario Williams seem to get injured so much?  I've read that he has a wrist injury now.

Nice to see Punk blade last night.

Is it me, or do you think Lawler was really pissed about the "nobodies" comment? I ost all respect for Lawler when I found out that he poured real whiskey in Jake The Snake's face when they had that angle and Jake was legit trying to go straight. I've always heard Lawler is a big prick.

This is slightly off topic but Lawler is the only one of the commentators who will leave WWE if Vince tries to yell at him through the headset.  He likes the job for the money and will leave if Vince ever tries to pull that shit on him.  FWIW, I've read that JR is a prick in real life as well.

Triple H will always be popular. Brock is popular cause he's new and fresh. It was Triple H who made the Lesnar vs HHH match appealing.

I'm suprised that you are such a staunch supporter of the guy.  Does HHH still have as much charisma now (in the ring and out of it)?  I can tell you what his promos are going to be without watching the show.  He's been saying the same stuff for the last 5-10 years to be honest and you can basically predict what he's going to say.  In the ring, he's gotten really slow and lumbering.  Not to mean his usual annoying habit of inserting himself into hot angles just for the hell of it like killing the CM Punk angle with the entire stupid Kevin Nash storyline.

Now if you were talking about HBK I'd totally agree.

I think the Lesnar Vs HHH angle still has legs, I think it's good Brock went over and this can easily be progressed to Brock going through another guy or two saying he's destroyed everyone blah blah and then faces Taker at Mania who beats the big bad monster who can't be beaten at Wrestlemania.

Other option would be Punk retains until Rumble, loses to Rock. Have Cena Vs Rock II at mania cause Cena wins rumble. Have Taker Vs Lesnar and have Punk Vs Austin. HHH can I dunno, maybe have a retirement match against Flair at Mania OR have him feud with Vince for some reason for the company.

Lots of options available, but Triple H not being on the product isn't going to lead to a decline he wrestles one match every 4 months as it is currently. He's already pretty much off the product.

HHH vs Lesnar rematch is rumored now to take place at Wrestlemania.  Cena is supposed to face Undertaker now.

They won't have an Austin returns match and a Rock match at Wrestlemania 29.  If Austin returns, I see him at Wrestlemaina 30.  Just more money to be made that way.

Damn, the Red Sox are close to trading Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Beckett, Carl Crawford and Nick Punto to the Dodgers for P prospect Allan Webster, IF/OF Jerry Sands, P Rubby de la Rosa, IF Ivan DeJesus, and 1B James Loney.

A few days ago, if you would have asked me I would have said that Bobby V is a goner after the year.  Now, they've sent most of the malcontents out of town.  Shoppach got traded a week ago to the Mets.  They fired pitching coach Bob McClure who was supposedly the leak that gave the info about the players bitching about Bobby V to upper management.

And they get rid of all that money owed to Crawford and Beckett.  I think they're probably supposed to send some cash to LA.  But I wouldn't be suprised if LA just took the contracts in exchange for sending less prospects to the Dodgers.

Yeah, they got less for Adrian Gonzalez but they had to include two guys who have very little value and a lot cash owed in Beckett and Crawford.  It gives them a whole bunch of money to play with and I think Matsuzaka comes off the payroll as well.  Can't see them going after Greinke in FA though, it just seems like a bad match.

They did get a couple of interesting pitching prospects in the trade in Webster and de la Rosa.  Sands has some skills as well.  Loney is useless though.

It will be a really interesting offseason for Boston that's for sure.

And Mark Grace is going to rehab since he got popped for a DUI last night.  I hope he gets his life straightened out.  He's pretty entertaining as a color analyst.  And he had a really good MLB career.

Does it matter?  I mean he doesn't have the title and he's still in the main event at the PPV's and at the center of the storylines on RAW.  At this point, I'd just wish he'd go away for a short period of time so I don't have to watch his shitty Cena overcomes the odds matches.

They need to get to Cena/Rock II somehow, it's better that it happens at Royal Rumble than at Wrestlemania. Though that would imply Cena wouldn't be getting his win back.

Lesnar/Punk probably won't happen soon. Punk's a heel and Lesnar doesn't need lose before his inevitable match with Taker.

Worst that could happen now for Lesnar is jobbing to Triple H in a rematch, no one has any interest in.

Rock vs Punk at Wrestlemania would be far more appealing than Cena/Rock II so I hope that the scenario plays out.

Lesnar/Undertaker just needs to happen since Undertaker is getting old and a once a year performer.  They need to just unleash Lesnar though, most of his move have been setups for his submission hold.  They must forgotten that he was a pretty good wrestler when he was in WWE the first time.

HHH-Lesnar II--zzzzzz.  No need for that to happen at all.  Unless they want to hear the crowd shit on HHH again.  The guy just isn't a face and his matches have followed a similar bland pattern.

Close to September and I'll just give some random thoughts:

AL East--NYY already has a spot in hand.  The shocker is Baltimore is still in contention.  The Rays are the hottest team in MLB.  I suspect at worst they'll get one WC spot.  Jays have been wrecked by injuries and the Red Sox are a complete mess (more on them later).

AL West--Texas has the division in hand.  Oakland is still in it and picked up Stephen Drew yesterday.  While the Angels aren't out of it, they are sinking fast(wild card spot).  Seattle has played well and could catch the Angels for third.

AL Central--Two teams--Tigers and White Sox will battle it out.  I think the loser has a good chance of snagging the 2nd WC spot.  The other teams are just playing out the string.  I will say that Cleveland should have dealt a bunch of players near the deadline.  Also, the Jimmez deal from last year looks like a disaster.

AL East--Two teamer with the Nationals and Braves.  Braves got a pretty good lead for the first WC spot.  Marlins did a good job with their July fire sale acquisitons and Stanton is healthy again and hit some absolute bombs on their West Coast road trip.  Phillies are in wait for next year mode and to be honest they have a really short window to compete.

NL Central--The Reds have a healthy lead in the division.  The Pirates and Cardinals are fighting for the 2nd WC.  I have a hard time being totally optimistic about the Pirates chances.  The pitching has reverted to norm and McCutchen has cooled down considerably.  Also, I've realized that Clint Hurdle is an absolute dumbass with some of his manegerial decisions.  The Cards are a weird bunch to figure out.  By all metrics they should have a better record, but they end up losing a lot of games they should win.  They lost a game last against the Pirates last week when they Pirates had zero RBI.  Cubs are playing for next year and to be honest they might be an interesting team to watch because they have a lot guys up who figure into next year's plans (Rizzo, Castro, Jackson and maybe Vitters).  Brewers at least got a decent return on the Greinke trade and Astros are playing to avoid 110+ losses.

NL West--Dodgers and Giants, and Dbacks lurking.  Clearly the Dodgers division to win now with the Cabrera suspension.  The real question is whether or not the Giants have enough pitching to withstand the Cabrera suspension.

If I were to guess today:

AL East--NYY
AL Central--White Sox
AL West--Rangers
AL WC--Rays and Tigers

NL East--Nationals
NL West--Dodgers
NL Central--Reds
NL WC--Braves and Cardinals.

I'll write about the Red Sox, Angels and the Cabrera suspension later on as those topics will take up a lot of space.

I can't see this being that good.  First too much time has passed--over 20 years from when the last one was released.  Both these guys are closed to 50 (Reeves is 48) and I just find it really awkward that guys that old are supposed to play characters (in spirit) around half their age.

Should have did a third one when Reeves was popular as hell in the mid nineties or at worst after the Matrix films.

I think it has to do with Linda McMahon running for senate.

The WWE recently signed a huge toy contract much needed for a fusion of cash to come on.

So McMahon has been forced to extend and continue this PG-rated run, in order to sell toys and be more kid and family friendly, ala the 80's.

That's the official story.

Problem is, the WWE had no problem selling toys in the late 90's/early 2000's, when the Attitude Era was in full swing.

So yeah, I lean to Linda running for office, combined with the fact we are in an EVEN MORE politically correct climate in 2012, than we were in 2002.  You can't get away with on TV today, what you did 10-15 years ago. I know, it's strange. Sitcoms are dirtier than ever, but if you call someone "black", when they actually are -- it's hate speech.

So I think the WWE can't pull some of the same antics they did before on USA Network, plus the Linda thing. I mean in 1999, USA's flagship was the TV show "Silk Stalkings" and Stone Cold. Now it's "Burn Notice" and John Cena. That alone shows the tamer quality of TV today compared to then.

They're also developing a Saturday morning cartoon show.  To be honest, I don't have a problem with them going to a less hardcore route for the matches.

What I do have a huge issue with is the fact that the matches and characters bore the shit out of me.  I caught the last two matches of Summerslam and they were fair.  I mean none of the matches were awful but at the same point they were just matches.  There was nothing special about them.  You know there's a problem with your booking/writing when the heel of one of the matches gets cheered (CM Punk) and the face gets showered with boos (Cena).  Or the fact that the fans chant "you tapped out" to the face (HHH) of the main event.

I did find it interesting that Daniel Bryan and CM Punk got the two biggest pops of the night.

You know you have a problem when Paul Heyman is one of the top heat drawers in your company.

For those who watch regulary:  do people give a shit about twitter or this tout thing they've been hyping?  Seems like a waste of time if they don't improve or add to the ratings.

On the Linda McMahon senate run--at least Vince is smart enough to only blow 10-15 million this time around instead of the 40-50 million that he wasted last time.

The dedication you guys have to follow this stuff is impressive. I gave up on it years and years ago. Was a big fan of the Undertaker and Stone Cold, but lost interest over time. Honestly, when they added Smackdown I started to lose interest. Takes a lot more effort to keep up with two shows per week instead of just one.

I rarely watch now but only do so on occasion out of habit.  Once football season starts I'll just start to read the results.  I knew it was a bad sign for my wrestling viewing habits when I opted to watch a shitty SNF game instead of a WWE ppv.

And if the material were better I wouldn't be bothered by two shows.  They've also extended RAW to three hours which is a major time commitment even if you are a hardcore fan.
