i believe black pudding and blood pudding are one and the same - we call it black pudding in scotland anyway - and they even deep-fry it in some places!! It is delicious though, for those of us who enjoy meat products, very much like haggis in texture - kind of like a very crumbly pate with a peppery/herby flavour. A lot of countries have their own variety ( morcilla (Spain and Latin America)
if you havent tried it - go for it! and haggis too - i adore haggis - but have to say the ingredients would have put me off if I hadnt been brought up with it.

Wish i was going...but was unlucky in the ballot (unsurprisingly!) I know one person going though. I still think I'll go on the night and listen from outside - why the hell not! I have a friend who knows the manager of the Dome and tickets for this gig are completely impossible.
I've seen Plant twice, first time at Glastonbury in 2002 and then at the Royal Albert Hall, London in 2005 -both times he was superb. His voice was spot-on, gave me goosebumps, the whole lot. I've also been lucky enough to meet Jimmy Page - but I've never seen him play live. I'd be happy as fk to hear Kashmir from outside - the roar and emotion of the crowd will be incredible.

worst part is - this jumped little cocknocker will be out in less than his full sentence - I'd bet money on it. Offenders in the UK are onto a great ride at the mo, prisons are generally well-equipped (gyms, libraries, dvds etc), good food, prisoners rights are catered to (yes, its fkd - i know) and Human Rights rules the roost.
There is no way this guy will serve three years for this when the prisons are so full and early releases happen all the time....
this act made me feel so angry and so sad that someone felt it was totally ok to do this. and the crowd that watched - man oh man i hope you get yours...

eeek. illegal, maggot-ridden cheese and foetus feast, urgh, fk - i thought this thread would be about haggis and I leapt in to defend my country.
trying to think what the most terrifying thing I've ever eaten was.... have tried crocodile and snake (both nice, but hardly festering temple of doom style cuisine) - my sister has had the pleasure of eating pig's testicles in blood-y soup, and had to watch the pig be slaughtered in her honour.
Anyone eaten anything on a par with James's list??

got my copy of this yesterday - its a great book. A really well-put together collection of memoribilia and photos from the very early years. a LOAD of stuff I'd never seen. Havent fully investigated the clips yet - but the tasters on the reckless road site were pretty damn cool. You get a code inside the book that allows you to access the clips etc - great idea IMO.
You can order the book from this site (international shipping to UK took a LONG time though - be patient!) and hear the sample clips on it too. enjoy

be interesting to see if Hollywood can manage a whole year without scheduling or producing any more fkn remakes. it makes me angry and sad that new ideas and new (or established) writers cant and wont be developed because of the ease of trotting out another remake. not every movie needs to have the now usual course of film>sequel>sequel>prequel>entire remake. You can just stop after one you know!
And Kirschener's attitude - hmmm - i disagree. Based on his points - remakes are ok because he wants the chance to use knowledge that he didnt have the first time round - but maybe his approach back then was part of the initial attraction and lure and horror of the original for a lot of fans. Why should he presume that we want to see what more of his skille and what he has now learned only within the context of a remake? I would much rather see him pit his new-found intellect into a brand new project.
Too much has changed since the golden age of film - remakes will be too 2007. Hell these days, I thought Hollywood were now being encouraged to phase out the age-old "cool" images of smokers, so try remaking any bette davis film! Stop fucking with the history of the silver screen - i feel its wasting time and talent.
