#1091 Re: Guns N' Roses » FAKE - Axl announces new GNR album in 2012? » 759 weeks ago
LOL only in GNR land can shit like this happen.
So I assume someone has hacked his account at mygnr?
They could have at least used proper grammar when posting.
#1092 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Duff Book » 759 weeks ago
Got Duff's book Friday and finished reading it Saturday.
Was a pretty good read, more about his personal journey than a tell all GNR book, though I think Duff said this was going to be the case anyhow.
Re the GNR stuff he went pretty easy on Axl IMO. Just the late starts and the name issue were probably the only negative light shed on him.
Not surprisingly it was a much better book than Adlers. Compared to Slash's harder to say. Again it felt like Duff's was more about his personal story and development whilst Slash seemed a little broader when speaking about the whole GNR thing etc. Duff tended to focus more on himself and where he was at and his demons without touching too much on everybody elses journey.
Personally I think he went pretty easy on Axl as did Slash in his book. A cynic might say they wish to ensure that any future options are kept open....
That said, the vibe I got from reading Duff's book is that he is actually over most of the shit. It happened so long ago, and he has moved on and developed personally so much since then that it doesn't really matter anymore. It's not woth holding on to crap about he said this, or he did that, just move forward. - A good space to be in.

Yeah I don't think Linp Bizkit are anything great. But it sounds like Courtney Love is still being a dick, shame coz I would have been curious to check Hole out never having seen them before.
Apex I will check our Sisters of Mercy, I have a mate that wants to go just to see them, so will definitely catch their performance.

Yeah I really like White Lightning too, that got a lot of play back by me when I bought Adrenalize years ago.
I can still listen to the Hysteria album from start to finish pretty happily, I like the majority of the whole album. I actually went and bought the remastered cd version with the bonus disc and b-sides as well about 2 months ago. I don't often buy any music these days unless I really like something, e.g. GNR, Slash etc So that says something that I actually bought it especially when I already had the original Hysteria CD.
#1095 Re: Guns N' Roses » Cool/Candid Axl Video » 760 weeks ago
Nice video. Yeah I agree apex, I think Axl would be great fun to hang with when he's in the mood. He seems like a genuine, engaging individual when he's up for it. I reckon you would have a great laugh.
Re. him speaking about Slash - Slash was a big part of this guys life for a period, so I wouldn't expect him to totally ignore the guy and the fact they had fun times together for a while.
I'm sure when you get down to it there is still some sort of affection deep down on both sides of the fence once you strip away all the bullshit.
#1096 Re: The Sunset Strip » Def Leppard » 760 weeks ago
A lot of their lyrics I find quite cheesy but the music itself still manages to get my feet tapping and head nodding.
there are definitely songs I don't like, e.g "Make love like a man" mmmwwaahahahahaha. Even though it was a hit at the time "Lets Get Rocked" has the most stupid lyrics too.
Bascially I liked their stuff up to Hysteria, then with Adrenalize they did exactly as you said and tried to write waaay too many ballads. They almost seemed to try too hard to write "hit songs".

Saw Def Leppard last night, was a good gig, they put on a good show. Sonically they sounded great too the songs sounded very close to the album versions.
Second time I've seen them and was just as impressed as last time
Heart sounded ok too Russ although I only caught the second half of their set

Sorry to hear that Neemo.
Diabetes and renal failure tend to be quite common in old cats.
We had to take my cat to the vet and have it put down earlier this year as his kidneys had given up. He was about 16 and had started to go down quite a lot. Drinking lots of water, losing weight, ratty fur, he smelt (which was due to the build up of toxins in his body) he also appeared to be getting dementia from it.
Diabetes is manageable tho from what I understand - obviously once you know what's wrong with them, which you now do.
#1099 Re: Guns N' Roses » Guns N' Roses Vinyl LPs » 760 weeks ago
They are all about the same price there is no real premium for the uncensored one.
#1100 Re: Guns N' Roses » Guns N' Roses Vinyl LPs » 760 weeks ago
They haven't done a remaster of Lies like the AFD and UYI ones. I would just look at getting a US or UK/German pressing. The vinyl quality should be about the same. If you get a whacky zany pressing from somewhere else e.g. South America somewhere sometimes they used thinner poorer quality vinyl to save costs so for audio quality I would steer clear of those just in case.
Try and get the first uncensored cover too where it has the "Wife beating..." and "Ladies welcome t the dark ages" comments on it. No particular reason other than I think it's visually better than the Lies Lies Lies censored one. The tits on the girl on the inner sleeve aren't censored then either
