I dunno, one of the threads the newbies seemed to be speaking in code, like a tit for tat kinda thing, daring each other to pull the trigger & do it.

Prolly knew each other from another forum or communication as hoarders. Not sure if there was a falling out or one of them got burned or what.

Hope it continues, we're like a bunch of chicks watching a season of The Bachelor

I get a "Invite Invalid" message?  I thought maybe cause I'm still logged in from the last time, but I tried logging out and also tried a seperate browser. Neither worked.

Lol, in the last 2 weeks I've tried logging onto 2 semi-anonymous servers (that I know little about) & a fucking porno site just to hunt down a Guns N Roses song. Sign me up for therapy for all this.

j/k, thanks for putting alot of this together Dadud

Takes courage to post it.

Do it bro. Go there

#1134 Re: Guns N' Roses » Guns N' Roses & related STUDIO SESSIONS - a definitive collection (?) » 350 weeks ago

Odd this forums definitely gotten some wierd posts?   There was a post about Black Panther release & it wasn't about a sequel, didn't make sense. I suppose I'm a bit nervous, I got a link to General, sounded legit, but it was hosted on a (fairly reputable) porn site. Xvideos, heard of it I think, I just regoogled it to ensure it was fairly legit. Seems so, probably I shouldn't have clicked it tho. Nothing extreme was on the site, just seemed like youporn type stuff.

You stole my idea bro.

j/k, I made a post in one of the threads about a compilation of leaked tracks for either CD2 or a vault or possible could have been 2002ish album. Its buried in one of the threads somewhere tho, long forgotten big_smile What songs do you have?

I see it as:

Hard School
Atlas Shrugged
The General
Going Down (likely a later song imho)
OMG

any others?

#1136 Re: Guns N' Roses » anyone hear the atlas clip leak » 350 weeks ago

How long was the Atlas song, I listened to it on YT but not sure its there anymore, wasn't it only like 4:30 or something. I beleive the 'talk' was it was an epic.

Lemme put on my *Conspiracy Theory Hat* for Randall Flagg here again, and opine that maybe it's all a ruse to get people back into it, and an album or vault outtakes does get put out this year. I'm skeptical & not waiting on one, but, it would totally make sense (to me) to just take a dozen tracks from 10-15 years ago & put them out as an outtakes or 'What if...' type. Honestly, I'd even dig a mini box set or double album of 20-30. Just put it out there, like Brian Wilson. Didn't Prince supposedly have a vault of tracks when he passed away.

Wasn't Atlas supposed to be on CD but was ultimately cut from the album due to the overall runtime of the album being too long?  If so, going by the clip of Atlas it's a shame that other tracks were kept on the album *cough* Rhiad *cough* instead of Atlas.

Totally. I don't recall offhand but there were 3 or so duds on the album, even in most peoples opinion. I guess what happened is we all had different thoughts on which were the duds, but 1 or 2 could've been replaced.

Can't believe that for my 30th birthday in Feb 2006 my and the wife went on a road trip holiday, and listened to nothing but the leaks from back then........now hear I am 13 yrs later, still checking on forums on grabbing the leaks when they drop.....

That's funny, I was on vacation too that week (Tahoe skiing/boarding). It was before smart phones, & I don't think I brought a laptop. So I really didn't even know until about 3 or 4 days after it happened. Suddenly these songs were out, it was everything essentially. Couldn't believe it.

I was pretty active on the boards prior, but yeah can't believe 13-14 years later, here I am. I remember when UYI came out hearing the song 14 Years & it sounded like an entire lifetime.

lol, thanks everyone for seeing my vision on the take of it. Always reminds me of an old SNL/Star Trek Convention skit:  https://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live … kies/n9511

(Really about 2:30 where it really gets rolling & hits home about us as Guns fans.)

More just like general posters. Not really intending on outing hoarders, maybe I could get anonymous quotes from them, but that'd be kinda worthless. Really I wasn't thinking of tracking them down. I was more thinking Lofton, Jarmo, myb MSL, (there was a poster Mike Giulana on HTGTH back in like 05 who broke his wrist & was outta work for like 3 months, and had something like 10,000 or 30,000 posts in that time, then kinda dropped off once he went back to work) and kinda stories within stories. For instance, like what went down at this site with its 1st year creator (Essentially he just gave up & dropped it one day and it shut down, Kinda, there may be more to it but thats the jist of it), we all logged on & it was gone (found out back on HTGTH subforum kinda bout what happened & those who worked to get one back online). I'm sure MyGnr has its stories & issues. The one that closed (cd.com or gnfnr.com?)  & of course HTGTH being the king & almighty of all Guns forums.

Just the whole concept of grown ass men following a message board for 15-20 years on Guns N Roses, a band who put out really 1 album since 1991 is hysterical. Kinda like comic book nerds, Trekkies, or baseball card collectors. Alot of people would have never guessed there even are GnR message boards (or fans diehard enough to follow). I spoke to someone who plays guitar about Bohemian Rhapsody movie, and he said he's a big Brian May fan. I asked him if here ever heard or knew of the CITR solo?  He had no idea what I was talking about and laughed when I said there's ppl on the Guns N Roses message boards who were pissed it didn't make the CD album, and that its like the holy grail of post-Slash GnR solo's. I sounded like a flake.

The whole MSL 2006 swindle is an amazing story.

Anyway, its kinda like one of those dumb thoughts, but I think it is pretty remarkable & would be eye opening to most of the public.
