I would have liked to hear what slash would have created for the CD solos overall.

What he does now is basically cover the existing melodies but interpret them into his own style which makes them a little more co-hesive with the back catalogue than they were.

However, one of Slash's best strengths is composition that suits and uplifts a song - so it would have been interesting to hear his take on these songs without the influence of the existing versions.

I don't think anyone disputes that more and more of the general public are getting disenfranchised with the 'status quo' or 'the establishment'.

What I dispute is whether the leader of the eventual and inevitable change will turn out to be a billionaire who has enjoyed and benefited from the existing system for his entire life.

Hate him all you want, but to suppose he's establishment like Hillary is just doesn't hold any water.

It depends how you define establishment.

Given the legal system, the education system, the tax system and almost everything else in the United States is heavily rigged in favour of rich people I see a man with billions of dollars to his name as absolutely part of the establishment.

How can he not be? Along with many other billionaires and millionaires he's gamed the tax system, he's profited from circumstance, avoided paying many of his workers, flouted the law by gaming the legal system, has life long associations with a host of the other rich and powerful people who control the world, and as you said he can say and do nearly anything he wants and not have to worry about any consequences or ever working another day in his life.

I'm not trying to be a hater but it's absurd that this man is being held up as a man of the people.

His entire lifestyle is the absolute definition of privilege and establishment.

Good luck to him, but his words are utterly hollow as he doesn't in anyway represent or understand any of the struggles he pretends to represent.

How can you not like some of that shit. He is such a bauce sometimes.

It's a man with somewhere between 3 and 10 billion dollars talking about how the powerbrokers of the world have screwed the little guy?

I'll ask again, how many people here think they could take a dollar and turn it into $1000?  $100?

In my opinion the old adage "it takes money to make money" is very true.

It's proportionally a lot easier to turn $100,000 into $1,000,000 than it is to turn $1 into $1000 as you need a certain level of money to invest in most projects before they can turn a profit.

The idea of Trump dealing with Putin terrifies me.

That's my problem too.

I don't really like Hillary at all - and while Trump is fun in that he speaks his mind in this politically correct age - he just doesn't seem like a guy with the tact and skills to handle negotiations and debates with world leaders on issues of world safety.

I'm worried he might get in as a protest vote against the system but then we'll have a guy in who could literally accidentally start world war 3.

People don't pay taxes on losses. You can only pay taxes on income. Why is this an issue?

Essentially because the losses are pretend.

It's logical for small business to only pay tax on profits and to be allowed to balance future profits against those past losses. It's common sense in normal business. However the big end of town has put pressure on lawmakers to allow for some pretty creative accounting about what constitutes a loss.

In trumps case he built buildings with borrowed money and deducted it, then could take depreciation deductions for the real estate even while the actual real estate was really appreciating in value.

Basically you exploit a combination of debt-financing and the accounting laws for booked (as opposed to actual real life) depreciation and you generate a big "on paper" loss that you write off against your future tax liabilities, all while you are actually making a massive profit in terms of actual money you really get.

War makes rich people richer. Nobody is going to launch nukes because Donald has heartburn.

To me that's just the point.

War does make rich people richer - but they have to only be wars of a certain calibre. Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria....the kind of fighting that benefits.

Wars that would go too far tend to be avoided, North Korea (until the day the Chinese approve), China, Russia....even war mongers don't really want those as while you can make money with eternal war - you don't really make a lot when WW3 destroys whole parts of the world.

I think people unite against trump because they see he has poor temperament, is unpredictable, has poor knowledge of world affairs, and frankly, a brash character that could easily start unnecessary trouble. It's hard to know quite what he'd do if something like 9/11 had happened on his watch but it's unlikely to be a measured, crafted, intelligent outcome whatever he choses. He's a fun character for tv shows and the business community, but he's way out of his depth as your president.

As for Hillary, I'm far from a fan, she seems corrupt and a fairly detestable character, but I think 'the establishment' at least knows she'll play the games the right way. They got rid of Bernie who was a candidate who seemed to want some actual social change, Hillary is the status quo under the pretence that it's not - but her downfalls - that she's cunning - are actually why some might like her over trump - she's crooked - but she's too smart at protecting her own interests to let the world go down....not so sure about trump.

Yeah, after decades of immoral and corrupt behavior the establishment is suddenly having a fit of conscience. That's why they are against Trump! 14

Right. And if he was part of their club and would benefit them, you'd think they wouldn't be so virulently opposed to him, no? Or is that the big conspiracy? I mean, which is it? An establishment turned to conscientiousness, or a big conspiracy?

If there's anyone who is establishment here it is Hillary Clinton with her queue of donors filling her pockets with hundreds of millions. You don't care about that?

Neither of them are a choice for the common Man.

Hillary has something like $30m to her name, and is married to Bill who has another $80m or so.

Hillary has decades of deals with the Washington power-brokers who serve the business elite.

Trump has $3b or more to his name. He has decades of deals with the business elite directly.

Basically neither of them are anywhere near regular people and neither of them are likely to enact things for regular people.

But the idea that people dislike trump because he's an outsider is absurd, he's been part of the wealthy club his entire life - hell when I was watching Wrestlemania 4 as a kid he was winging it with WWE promotor Vince Mcmahon at at the Trump Plaza at one of the peaks of the WWE's fame. Maybe h's kinda new to politics but he isn't some backyard guy whose going to make changes - he's part of the rich and powerful and has been his whole life.

If rich people are teaming up against him - it's not because they think he'll rock the boat and spoil their Big $ gravy train by helping regular folks - it's that he has the temperament to accidentally cause a war or a revolution and stuff things up for rich folks by mistake.

Trump has nearly 4 billion USD....that makes him part of The Establishment in my book.
