#121 Re: The Garden » NEW MEMBERS introduce yourself here » 898 weeks ago

Uhm....I was going to introduce myself, but I got *way* too distracted by that pic (and subsequent discussion) about DTJ and Aria a few pages back.   Hell, maybe I already introduced myself.  I'm not sure I know my name at the moment.

Nice to be here and not feel the need to constantly question if what I'm posting is acceptable, by the way.

To be honest, I'm a bit surprised that so many people are taking Sorum's words semi-seriously.   Phrases like "I'm sure it will happen *eventually*" and "they COULD be meeting right now" are nothing new from the VR camp, given the inner turmoil and paranoia of the past few years.

And why would Kushner be involved if it were to happen?  I remember the RS article from last year (for AFD's 25th Anniversary) where Kushner basically said, "yeah, if everybody else goes back to their old bands, I'm screwed."

To be honest, the *last* thing I want is another reason to delay the release of Chinese Democracy, even if that includes the possibility of a reunion.  I'm happy with the GNR of the here and now.

And we also know that Axl is far from naive, or an idiot, when it comes to trusting the select few that he surrounds himself with.  It's far from a secret that it doesn't take much to get Baz talking, and Axl surely has known this for a long, long time.

#124 Re: Guns N' Roses » Of the new three leaks, which songs do you actually like? » 898 weeks ago

It might not be the honest truth at this point, but I just can't bring myself to complain about new GNR music, no matter how let down I may or may not be with any given track...

But you have to wonder how much talking he can get away with before becoming persona non grata in the GNR world...

VELVET REVOLVER/ex-GUNS N' ROSES drummer Matt Sorum has told Joe Bosso of MusicRadar.com that he thinks GUNS N' ROSES will get back together. "I'm sure it'll happen eventually," he said.

Sorum isn't so sure about his involvement in a reunion, however. "They could be having meetings about it right now. They could be in a bomb shelter, with Axl [Rose, vocals] and Slash [guitar] and Duff [McKagan, bass]. And Izzy [Stradlin, guitar]! Maybe Steven Adler [original GUNS N' ROSES drummer] '” I don't know. I'd probably be the very, very, very last guy to get the call."

As for the status of VELVET REVOLVER's search for a new lead singer following the departure of Scott Weiland, Sorum said, "We are looking. We are actively looking. We rehearsed for a couple of weeks. We tried out a couple of guys. We have a guy right now that we're still'¦ let me see, what would be the correct word'¦ massaging, as you will '” sort of checking it out, feeling it out, letting him work with us. I'd rather not [say who it is] '” just because I don't want it to get out that he might be the guy. I mean, we like him, he's awesome'¦ It's really weird because [chuckles] Slash and Duff and myself '” especially the three of us '” we were kind of like, 'Wow, this guy shows up to a rehearsal on time, he's really nice, he's easy to get along with,' and it actually kind of scared us, 'cause we thought, 'Is this possible?' God, I was worried for a minute that it was almost like, you know, when you get in a relationship with a girl, or a guy gets in a relationship with a girl, or a girl gets in a relationship with a guy, and maybe they're really, really, really nice, but for some reason you don't really like them. [Laughs] I'm kind of worried that we might be so used to the drama. [Laughs] I kind of looked around at the guys. I said, 'Man, this guy is a super-nice dude. You think we can go with that or what? [Laughs]'"

One thing that's clear is that he doesn't suffer fools lightly, that's for sure.  And Bach really seems to walk the line sometimes, even though his heart's in the right place...

I imagine there will be more "new" information in the actual article that sees print.  I  don't recall ever hearing the Ron Jeremy bit before, either...

I'm hoping my new issue shows up soon so I can read the whole story...

http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/i … tells-all/

In light of the Guns n' Roses leak last week '” nine tracks that may or may not be the near-final version of Chinese Democracy '” Rolling Stone dialed up Axl Rose pal and collaborator Sebastian Bach to gain some insight into where Rose now stands with the extremely delayed LP. For the full story, see the next issue (out later this week). For now, here's Bach recalling what happened the time he suggested Rose just put out Democracy:

'There's only a couple of times he's ever gotten mad at me. One of them was when I let Ron Jeremy in his dressing room. He didn't like that at all. '˜Why the fuck did you let Ron Jeremy in my dressing room?' I was like, dude, he was begging. That wasn't a good time for me. Axl goes from zero to 60 faster than any hemi engine, I'll tell you that. When we were first hanging out in 2006, we were just standing around a bunch of people. I go, '˜Axl, do you think you might get the record out? It would be a great time, now that we're on tour and everything.' He goes, '˜Oh. Great! Everybody! Sebastian has a great idea here, man. Guess what? Sebastian, should I put out a record? Maybe it would be a good idea for me to put out a fucking record! Hey everybody, listen to this! I never thought of that! That never came to me! Oh, great idea dude.' I felt like Fred Flintstone in Mr. Slate's office.

'Another thing that I don't know you'll ever see is a Axl Rose reality show. When I see that shit, I laugh. Here's the only other time that he got made at me. I had just finished shooting Supergroup for VH1. It was on TV in America while we were gallivanting across Europe. We had a beautiful dinner at some incredible Italian restaurant. We are sitting there and I go, '˜Dude, I just shot this reality show for VH1 and they paid me this amount of money, man. It was fucking easy. It was only like two weeks. It was hilarious. Axl, if they paid me this amount of money, they'd pay you like a million bucks for 10 days of some shit.' He's looking at me with this look on his face and he's all quiet and he goes, '˜Sebastian, you don't understand.' I go, '˜What?' He goes, '˜I will pay VH1 $2 million to leave me the fuck alone!'˜ I would bet my life you won't be seeing the Axl Rose reality TV show.
