And you think that is going to help things? Maybe it's the pessimist in me, but I can only see that hurting things. IF there is a new album, its reception is going to make CD look like Thriller even if it is the greatest rock album ever made. People wanted to see what Axl could do without Slash and they saw. I don't think they're lining up to see what he can do with DJ that he couldn't do with BH. It will sell to the diehards and that's it.
Well, sounds like you're asuming album-sales matter to me.
I mean positive in the sense that, when GNR comes to town, headlines like "It was only Axl, none of the past members were there!" etc etc, are gonna make you look silly and uninformed.
I want new music for me. I'm past the point where GNR needs to release platinum selling records in order for me to feel that "I was right" or in some way justify all the years spent following this saga or whatever the fuck... I might have been there at one point. Not anymore.
If the stars align and GNR release a hitselling record, good for them! Makes good promotion for the shows. THAT'S the way the business works these days. That in turn leads to possible future music.
But Axl and GNR are gonna draw a crowd regardless of sales off of the next record. Axl's legacy and the music he performs has proved that during the past twelve(!) years.

Positive? Come on.
Good for Axl that he's apparently happy as long as he's drunk, but this really isn't positive. I mean, if we're down to calling something like this positive, it really goes to show you how dark things really are.
I don't totally disagree...
My time of staying up late to follow the updates from gigs are long gone. It's cool for the fans in the cities they are playing these days. Many of them haven't had a GNR gig in many years. But for those of us that have seen this movie a couple of times, meeeh WHAT'S UP NEXT?!
As for the clip...
It's a positive and fun thing for those of us that are Axl fans. It's not an everyday thing that videos of him having a good 'ol time surfaces.
It's not a health sign on the state of GNR in any stretch of the imagination. I'm under no illusion there.
They're at the tail end of a two year world tour that has lasted FOUR(!) years!
I'm looking forward to seeing them wrapping this one up and embarking on whatever they feel is coming up next. No matter how long time that may take.

Yeah he's having a good time but.... it's really no different than anyone else but because it's Axl it's awesome? I must be missing something cause if there was footage of Bono doing the same thing my reaction would be "meh whatever". I don't know, the reaction almost seems as though people think he's on suicide watch 24/7
I think you're overlooking the fact that Axl Rose is viewed as A) a recluse, B) an asshole, C) someone who could care less about the fans.
That should answer your question.
^This.
I never said it's awesome, it's just cool to see a guy who's more known for the points Faldor pointed out, actually chilled out having a good time with some fans.
Cool! Thanx for posting! Nice to see!
Nevermind the "Debbie-downers" on here. They'll spin something positive into the ground faster then you can say Bono!
#124 Re: Guns N' Roses » GNR’s and SLASH’s performance of Paradise City in HELLFEST, France » 696 weeks ago
Just came to think of that show from England that was supposed to stream live that GNR then decided to make available at a later time. Anyone know what happened to that? Did I miss it?
#125 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl's voice overs in GTA: SA » 698 weeks ago
Thanx Russ!
I'm a huge GTA-fan, played them all and really got a kick outta seeing Axl's name in the booklet when the game first came out. I read the booklet on the busride home BEFORE I even played the game!
But there were a LOT here that I hadn't heard before! So thanx!
#126 Re: Guns N' Roses » Sharon Maynard (Yoda) » 701 weeks ago
The little that I have read about this Yoda person over the years does sound wierd.
But after reading both Slash and Duff's books, very little if any mentions are made on the subject. So apparently it was not as big of an issue as other would like to portray it.

Looks like they will stream the gig in London on 31 May!
Hopefully we'll get a good quality TWAT out of it!

This guys TWAT might be better too. Hold the laughter please.
Yep! This guys TWAT is the best one so far!
#130 Re: Guns N' Roses » Dublin, Ireland, May 17th » 702 weeks ago
TWAT sounds awesome! Ron is the shit during that performance!! Great! Kinda hard to hear Axl during the first half, sounds like he "swallow" some of the lyrics. What the fuck! Now I'm knitpicking. EPIC!
But.....
Adding TWAT to the setlist is not what is needed for this Euro tour. It's still basicly the same show as the previous three(!) CD tours.
