I think this one's a little different than just having maybe some unreleased tracks. He pretty much claimed that he had some documents that was damaging to the band in one sense or another.
And that thing generated a 130+ page thread on one of the Axl controlled boards. He almost has to respond at that point. If only to squash the Duff is returning and inevitable reunion rumors.
And I agree with axlin08, the car wreck analogy is apt. If you cheer for a bad sports team and they have a whole bunch of off field shit that is FAR more interesting than the actual play, of course you're going to keep on watching just to see what else happens.

If they ever released the follow up to Chinese Democracy, I would like them to actually release all the cuts/versions of the songs from CDI on a bonus disc. This would probably also work if they ever released a box set of the CD era. Also, if Axl wanted to release a bluray of any show from the past tour it would be a nice enticement for the hardcores. There are ways to work this in without having Chinese Democracy re-released.

Thanks for the input. Williams sounds like Jeff Fisher part II. Luckily he opted not to interview with the Titans.
Mularkey's interviewing today and the more I read the more I'm leery of him. The offense in ATL wasn't that great either.
Fewell's probably my choice but I'm not sure about his chances. I think he has a shot at the job though otherwise he would have just declined the interview.

I'd sure love the Best Buy re-issue thing to be true. Am I on an island with that?
Probably. As previously noted by others, they have boxes of Chinese Democracy still in the warehouse and in store that they can't sell. Their financials took a beating last quarter and I can't imagine them spending any more cash on CD when they have problems elsewhere.

I hope Duff continues writing these sports columns for ESPN.com. This one and the other one where he said the NBA was dead to him were great to read.
He's pulling for the Packers to win I think. I can't imagine him rooting for the Steelers considering that the Seahawks got jobbed in that Super Bowl. Plus I think he used to have Packers pajamas or something like that.

Ok, in addition to in house candidates, the Titans are interested in interviewing Perry Fewell, Gregg Williams, Mike Mularkey. Those 3 are guys are all former Bills coaches. Fewell was an interim coach Williams will interview either on Thursday or Friday.
Anyway, question for Bills (or AFC East) fans, which ones of these 3 ex-Bills coaches was the best? All I remember was Williams was bad with the media and had Rob Johnson, Drew Bledsoe as his qbs. I don't remember anything about the Mularkey tenure at all. Fewell did ok in the interim stint and I think has done some good work with the Giants this year (Colts and Eagles games aside).

Wow, so much bs in that article.
So with the tour appearing to be off, where does that leave things with Best Buy? Although Best Buy had been burned by the first release of Chinese Democracy, they've pledged major funds to help market a reissue. Will they continue to be so supportive when clearly it is impossible for Guns N' Roses to reliably stick to any sort of plan.
Ha! Best Buy released their financial statements in December of 2010 and it showed that their net income, revenue and same store sales all dropped. In addition, the statement claimed that the company had lost some market share. So why on earth would they toss money into GNR when they have bigger problems to solve. That and I think they're probably still gun shy after the last experience they had with GNR in 2008.
But why is Doc McGhee having so much trouble finalizing a North American tour? Multiple sponsors have already signed on, including John Varvatos, Bloomingdales and Deleon Tequila. Companies such as Monster Energy and Harley-Davidson have had discussions with GNR as well about sponsoring a tour.
Um. Bloomingdale's doesn't sponsor individuals only charitable organizations.
From the Macy's/Bloomingdale's site:
Macy's and Bloomingdale's do not fund the following events or sponsorships:
* Individuals
* Organizations operating primarily in communities where Macy's or Bloomingdale's do not do business
* Religious organizations (when funding is to be used for primarily religious purposes)
* Salaries for nonprofit staff positions
Events
Macy's and Bloomingdale's corporate event sponsorships program provides funding to charitable organizations in Cincinnati and New York through sponsorships and participation in fundraising events.
Somehow, I don't think GNR qualifies as a charitable organization.
It seems like he just trolled the boards and just randomly pulled some stuff that makes sense and culled it into an article.

He's full of shit.
Pretty much. Just which publishers would shell out for something most casual music fans aren't interested in? This stuff appeals to gnr hardcore fans only. Newsflash to MSL: casual fans and the general public don't really care about the ins and outs of this incarnation of GNR. I hate to say that but its true.
I love how he documents the "extraordinary amount of time spent on research."

NO! You get what you get. If Axl and GNR want to work at a snails pace. If they want to treat their fans in what some view as negative, that's their choice. And it's our choice to accept it or say F off! It's not our right to go and steal top secret information from them and distribute it accordingly. I don't care how badly you think GNR is run. Things have gotten way out of hand somewhere along the line and it needs to stop or this band will have absolutely no chance at returning to any bit of normalcy. The divide between band and fans will just get further and further apart. This latest stunt is certainly not a step in the right direction.
You and I obviously disagree with how GNR is run business wise. However, I am in agreement with you here that it is flat out wrong what MSL is doing this time. There is just about this episode that reeks of attention whoring and deviousness that just rubs me the wrong way.
BTW, if there's anything that Axl knows about it's lawsuits and if he wanted to he could bleed MSL dry in legal fees alone. In this case, he is entirely in the right.
I never found Mysteron to be that annoying either. He usually just kinda ending up saying variations of the same thing--an album will be coming soon just be patient and wait. I just ignored what he was saying after a while.
I'm just suprised that some of you can make out what the power point in the first MSL video says. I can barely make out a few words of it myself.

Just avoid "The Fountain" though, I tried watching that once and got really confused about that film.
BTW, the DVD/BD release of this film is reportedly, March 8.
