Agreed on that. The Merriweather hit on Heap was pretty blatant and he wasn't making a play on the ball.
#1352 Re: Guns N' Roses » How can GNR fans possibly be "AGAINST a reunion? » 812 weeks ago
I don't really want a reunion. It would be a fake thing (and before someone says actual GNR is a fake GNR, a reunion would be even more fake), they would be there for money, to tour the world for 2 years or so and then goodbye. And for what? Just to see Axl playing with Slash, considering that Dj Ashba sounds the same? The fact is that not only Ashba sounds the same, the whole band sounds the same or even better sometimes, but with New GNR we may have the chance to see them releasing new music... and not they playing with the Pussycat Dolls and Justin Bieber.
And how is this different from what is going on now with the current GNR? You have hired guns (no pun intended) playing songs mostly written by Slash, Izzy, Duff etc.
This current incarnation of GNR hasn't exactly released a lot of material either. One album that was mainly composed/written by guys that are no longer in the band. I would be less critical if Axl released some new music once every few years or so.
If anything a reunion might lessen the load on Axl and push him to release some new music with some of the original members helping him write/compose some of the songs. The current structure (guys recording stuff, Axl listens and decides which parts are good) seems to not work at all.
I would be for a reunion obviously using the Van Halen template. Do a tour and record and release some music later. The difficult part would be to get Axl/Slash to reconcile whatever differences they have.
And I like GNR boards the way they are. Imagine a reunion... what would we talk about? You think Axl would change his reclusive mind and the GNR censorship? I don't think we would get DVDs, interviews, new website or whatever everyone wants. We would talk less. We wouldn't talk about leaks, we wouldn't talk about rumors, we wouldn't talk about new albums. We would talk about the setlists, that wouldn't be much different from today, except for the ChiDem songs off. After 5 concerts very similar, it would get boring.
What exactly are we talking about now? We don't talk about new albums here now? I think the rumors thing is pretty tiring too. The Duff plays with GNR thing garnered 14 pages and I'm pretty sure eclipsed whatever is on the first page.
Posts seem to be up whenever a) GNR screw up (see Dublin and London past threads) b)Reunion/old member in the news talk.

I don't think the situation is quite as dire as the talking heads say for the Vikings. First, GB lost two defense starters to season ending injuries last week and they still don't have a consistent running game. Two, Chicago and their OLine issues are starting to show again. They also benefit from the NFC being the weaker conference this year. They play DAL in a game of "more disappointing NFC team so far" I think 9 or 10 wins gets a WC birth and in this conference this year they have as good a chance as anyone to go to the super bowl.
Forgot to mention Jermichael Finley (TE for GB) is out for 3 weeks and Aaron Rodgers has a concussion issue. So things aren't going well for GB anway.
On the MNF game--the ending quarter was pretty much the Favre story for the last 10 years. Plays great and brings your team back but throws a killer int at the end.

I remember that first Gore fumble now that you mention it, the PHI LB made a great hit and jarred it loose with his helmet. With Smith, they might as well just start him the entire year, Carr is really mediocre. Although I have to admit, whatever Singletary said to him seems to have worked. And it worked when he did the same thing with Vernon Davis.
I guess I just want to see a little more stability from Smith. It seems like he goes from a good week to a bad week pretty quickly. The defense of the 49ers also leaves much to be desired. They haven't been good this year. I think Smith is a FA after this year so if the 49ers dump him, he could make a good reclamation project.
Who gets a win first Carolina or Buffalo? I've read that John Fox might switch back to Matt Moore as his starting qb.

Sorry, AFD is good enough as is and I don't really need to dl a nuAFD. I just find it hilarious in this economy that people are willing to drop $$$ on something that's over 10 years old. You'd be better off saving the money or planning for a vacation.
beleive it or not there has been a whole wackload of stuff that peopel havent downloaded...the Rock Band Moggs, the 18th version of TWAT etc etc the interest jsut isnt there for the most part...
granted id prolly give NuAFD a spin or 2 but after that i doubt it will be worth much more than taking up hard drive space
It's just difficult for me to dl this stuff when it probably doesn't sound that much different from the actual product or the leaked tracks from a few years ago.

Romo throws for over 400 yds and 3 td, 2 int(1 was meaningless)
Miles has 166 yds, 1 td
Felix has over 100 yds rushingand it all equals another Cowboys loss. Seriously is their a team in the league that beats themselves more often then the Cowboys to themselves?
Penalties, penalties, penalties. Undisciplined bunch of fucks! A loss to the Vikings next week and the season is over for the Cowboys. The´ll be lucky to get to 10-6 now as it is and I´m pretty sure 10-6 means no playoffs.
You forgot to mention that their OL blows. They gave up like 5 sacks in the first half. At least they finally benched Leonard Davis. Special teams was also suspect especially right after they scored a TD that tied the score at 27. They allowed the TEN KR to return it to the 10 (and tacked on a PF penalty to boot). They also missed a FG earlier in the game too.
I'm still not sure how the fuck TEN is winning these games. They give up 500 yards of offense to DAL and win. Two weeks ago 400+ yards of offense to the NYG and win (by 19). I guess the defense is forcing turnovers and sacking people unlike last year where they just picked up chunks of yards through the air. They are better at red zone defense though.
What a weird week of football highlighted by the 3 late game upsets. SD has the WORST special teams in the league. Two blocked punts in the first quarter vs OAK. A few weeks ago it was two KR td's in the 2nd half vs SEA. SD has generally been a 2nd half team but I'm not sure that they can do that this year.
The Bears throw 4 int and have like 50 yds of passing offense and still win by 17pts. Both teams only combined for 91 yds passing.
Kolb looked better this week I just wish he'd start throwing to Desean Jackson. The 49ers have to find a real qb. Alex Smith looks like a perpetual tease. He'll look good at times enough to make you think he's turned the corner; then he'll suck again.
No complaints about Jeff Fisher this week from me.

It's kinda hard to make an argument that play is at a high level when one division has a whole bunch of teams playing ok or subpar football and leading the division at 2-2. And at 0-4 a team (SF) is not considered out of it yet. Hell, you can start a 5th string qb and still win a game.
In this case, the regular season has less meaning because as long as you get in, you have as good of a chance at winning than the team that won the division or posted the best record in the league. It's baffling why the NFL is considering an 18 game season (outside of monetary gain); weeks 16-17 only have a few significant games where both teams are playing hard. The Colts and Saints (and others) treated those games like preseason games.
My interest is dwindling for reasons entirely different though. Shitty crappy coaching featuring Jeff Fisher is my excuse.

With the Bears OL and Cutler's injury, the Vikes have a real chance to jump right back into the NFC North and playoff picture. With both NFC West and NFC East leaders being at 2-2, it's a good chance that the Wild Cards come from the other 2 divisions (South and North). ATL is a contender along with CHI and GB for these spots. Anyone remember 2006 where it seemed like half the teams had a chance at the playoffs? It looks like parity will reign supreme again in the NFL. It makes sense for both teams to get a deal done as it looks like Moss is in one of those mentally checked out phases (see end of Raider tenure). I'm sure war is stoked about the rumors.
Wasn't mentioned but Marshawn Lynch got traded to the Seahawks for a 4th rounder in 2011 and a fifth or sixth rounder in 2012. He will get most of the carries. SEA released Julius Jones today who should draw interest in GB.
#1359 Re: The Sunset Strip » Rizzoli and Isles » 814 weeks ago
I caught the one episode with Mark Paul Gosselar last month. And while it was an interesting episode, the plot issues you previously mentioned are kinda the reason, I never watched another episode. I did like that one scene where she had to eat the fish with the fancy cutlery.
They (Harmon and Alexander) do the mismatched partner thing well though. I always liked her bitchiness (sorry that's the best term to describe it) when she was on Law and Order around 10 years ago. I've been spoiled by the Law and Order series and Homicide.
Anyone watching The Event? I caught the first two eps and they were good enough to keep me interested.

Haven't seen the original but this one seems pretty good. I'll probably check it out.
