I really need to read IT again. It's been decades and my more old, jaded, and nostalgic self would pick up more on it's themes.

The King movie we've needed for ages is The Long Walk.

Nah, they need to do the dark tower right. Amazon is making it a series, and if done right it could be in league with Thrones. I just don’t know how you keep a kid 11 for 8 books of material and have a talking raccoon.

How did some kid with Aspergers become the face of climate activism. How is this any different than using the kids from Parkland as a shield from actual discussion.

Can you imagine this with any other issue? Picture some kid with autism yelling about  Iran or immigration. Who the fuck would listen to that, let alone act like their argument is brave or coherent.

Like ID said, the El Paso shooter talked more about climate change than Trump. I can’t take people seriously who think putting children in front of a camera making nonsensical and hysterical arguments is good, intelligent discourse. But it’s clear to me more than ever that intelligence and facts are not the tools wielded by progressives.

Fucking teenagers are their spokesmen.

Rambo, loved it

I’m seeing this Saturday. Critics hate it, but audiences love it. I guess critics don’t want to acknowledge the reality of cartel violence.

I liked the first one but this was awful. I think Mcavoy and Chastain realised they’d signed up to a lame duck and just phoned it in.

I agree. I saw it last weekend and felt very underwhelmed. Bill Hader did a great job, but the story never pulled me in. Some books just can’t be transitioned to movies.

I do have high hopes for the stand on CBS. Skarsgard will be a great Flagg.

Sorry, I don’t think Trudeau should be sorry. He meant no offense, and no one gave a shit in 2001. I’m not going to hold people to new “standards” about who can say what  and dress a certain way. It’d be in poor taste today, he’s not a bigot, so he wouldn’t do it. That’s all that needs to be said.

The conservative attacking him for it should be ashamed of themselves.

What are you talking about?  Democrats and their allies have sued every time Trump farts. They’ve been overruled on nearly every suit, but they enjoy delaying legal processes.

What suit is Trump launching that is against the “government” and is a new crisis. I’m genuinely asking in case I miss something.

We’ve heard so much during Trump’s presidency that it’s hard to judge what is truly significant anymore about his actions.

This seems to rise to the WTF level, but again it’s hard to tell anymore.

Can we find out what was actually said before the outrage?  It’s not like career officials have lied and exaggerated the past 32 months.

It’s his prerogative as the executive to say what he wants and feels is best. Obama has no problem “agreeing” to the Iran deal despite opposition from his own party and no support from congress. He had no problem telling Russia he’d have more flexibility after the election.  So for me to get upset about whatever Trump might have said, it has to be worse than that. I have a hunch it won’t be, but the left will howl anyway.

It's legit.  Is this the "NiN" song people were talking about?

It’s gonna be Biden vs. Trump. I just don’t see anyone else getting enough to topple him all across the country. Yes, Warren and Sanders and maybe Harris and Mayor Pete might pick up some states, but Biden’s appeal is across the spectrum, across the entire country. Even some not too far right would support him.

This.

I really hope Amy Klobuchar is his choice for VP.

I just don't think the far left will rally behind the ticket without some kind of minority present.  Two white people will alienate the far left that is enamored with identity politics.  Klobuchar is ideally lockstep with Biden and Minnesota is almost a guarantee for Democrats.  Biden needs someone to excite the base.
