Yeah then he went on with this:
The odd thing is he's making out like it's all bizarre but it's actually pretty simple - Australia has biological importation laws because we're an island in the middle of nowhere with unique species and without a lot of diseases the rest of the world has. We like to keep it that way. There's a process to follow if you want to bring a pet in so we can check it out and make sure it isn't carrying any nasties.
It didn't need to turn into this big of a deal really but the way he's mocking it on tv is a little rude.
As for the marriage....odd really...but I can't think he'd be single for long lol

I think I started posting around 2006 but I lurked for many years prior to that.

Pretty sad.
There was nearly a classic megadeth line up last year or so back but it fell through. Now it's an impossibility. Take note GNR.
That said the current megadeth line up is phenomenal.

^ That's interesting. In the songs you mean?
#1485 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl Rose joins AC/DC » 521 weeks ago
I'm not going to get into GNR vs Ac/Dc because I deeply love both bands.
I will say the "they all sound the same" thing to me never had any credibility.
To me it's like saying "every girl you fucked had a vagina". Yep they did. And it was good.
Same with Ac/Dc - they have a distinct sound and it's great.

Missed this before youtube pulled it.
Sixx:Am is hitt and miss to me - enjoyed the first two albums, didn't like the third one at all.
I could see them doing good stuff in the future though. DJ and Nikki is a good fit.

I know....it's insane to me that he can do stuff like that but it's not released. It's almost criminal how good a studio version would be when he hits those high notes.

So what do you think of the Baz songs Axl sings on Angel Down?
I'm actually a Baz fan, and I really liked Angel Down, so basically I liked them. Although I'll confess the Aerosmith cover was the best!
I just think in general Axl tends to make songs sound better. Even songs I don't really like, Axl's version I often prefer to the original. For example I don't really like "The Seeker" as a song much but I can listen to the GNR version.
The original version of "sailing" is nice but bland, while the 2006 GNR version blew my mind.
No doubt to me that some of the type of riffs ashba did with Sixx:Am and with Motley could be made into good GNR/Axl songs if Axl had wanted it. I mean sure he's no slash....but neither was robin and they managed to make Better....and bucket doesn't like traditional song structures at all and they milked some GNR stuff even out of that.
I think the problem is Axl appears to have a psychological problem against new music. It's hard for him for whatever reason these days. He seems a lot happier publicly these days - and his voice is back - so lets hope that translates to something new one day.

Yeah I always thought....
Slash smoked a cigarette during patience because he was addicted to cigarettes in the 1980s.
Dj smoked a cigarette during patience because Slash was addicted to cigarettes in the 1980s.

That said, the cool guitar in better would be boring without Axl's parts, the cool horn melody in Madagascar would be boring without Axl's parts, the crazy riffing in Riad and Shackler would be boring without Axl's parts. To me Axl's vocals enhance anything they are put with. I think DJ could deliver a guitar based track like he does with Sixx:Am or with Motley Crue...and Axl would turn it into a GNR sounding track. It's not his fault that Axl seems to have developed problems songwriting.

monkeychow wrote:DCK wrote:DJ is right and he should be in Sixx:Am and not GNR. However, he kept more in tune playing these tunes than Slash does these days. Tophat boy better be upping his game.
DJ played nearly nothing but Slash's songs and consciously worked for years to mimic slash's stage moves, appearance, charisma and guitar solos and musical style.....so yeah I don't think Slash has to worry about improvising too much lol
As for DJ - he figured out he was never going to be able to do his own music in a GNR context and would only ever be covering Slash and bailed. Can't blame him for that - he wasn't the first and even now he may not be the last.....
Not entirely true. DJ was a year late...Ron was all over Chinese Democracy. Every song. Solos and rythym.
My point is it's just the timing. If DJ had joined the year Ron did, or the year Bucket did, or the year Robin did he would also be all over the album. It has nothing to do with lack of ability from DJ and everything to do with whatever mental block it is that keeps Axl from new works. Notice how DJ came AFTER cd was out yet the leaks of his stuff are his remixes of CD? The band just doesn't move on.
Anyway, DJ quit because he preferred to play his own music to covers, which is essentially the same reason Robin, Bucket and Bumble all quit too, even if they got a little more of their own contributions in the pie first.
