That is amazing. "Is this some sort of ploy to get people to leave their seats during halftime to spend money on alcoholic beverages and concessions?"
Kudos to whoever wrote that.

So the album is about 90% done? Wow.
Kim recently mentioned they were working on new albumS. Pluralcy. INSANE.
Also, the b sides disc we are expecting has morphed back into a box set & that the entire vault will be released within five years.
Yes it is pure insanity. Especially with how active they are now. Cornell is touring and releasing stuff left and right. Soundgarden will be releasing one album and working on more.
And Cornell plans on releasing an acoustic solo album early next year.
And Matt Cameron is recording with Pearl Jam for a new album next year.
Perhaps we will get one from Ben finally? Or a Kim disk?

Sounds more to me like Kim is contributing less. That everyone is giving guitar parts and he's just playing them like a guitar monkey.
The point you are missing is that everyone has always wrote songs on guitar and presented them to the rest of the guys.

From my understanding, Axl prefers lean steak and lean roast beef. That ain't gonna get you fat.
Gotta be the booze & lamb.
I thought he liked Rib Eyes though. That is not a lean cut of beef.
Or maybe it's just because that's my preferred steak.

Seriously this is like the only thing i'm looking forward to right now. Every other artist I know of is well-between albums right now, and i've kinda gotten bored with Dream Theater.
I'm glad Kim is contributing more. I always thought he was the underrated one.
Kim, Ben and Matt are all highly underrated. Cornell can be underrated too (seriously). None of those guys get the respect they deserve. Cornell gets the most but mainly for his voice. He's also a brilliant song writer and one that can't read music at all.
Kim contributing more suggests that the album will be heavy and not a lighter album. That is good news. Someone needs to be kicking ass out there and no one seems able or willing to do it.
#147 Re: The Sunset Strip » Listen to Unreleased Cornell Song "Cleaning My Gun" » 714 weeks ago
Thank you SO MUCH. That was JUST THE SONG I needed to hear today.
Right time, right place, "Right Turn"
This has to be one of his best solo songs. It's a travesty that this was never released in any official way until now on a live solo album.
I love his intros to this song too. There's more on youtube that are pretty funny.

Axl is looking lean n mean again! Amazing his transformation already. He even sprinted during Patience! FUCK YEAH!
US tour is gonna rule.
Sometimes I think Axl forgets about YouTube and that people are gonna see him get in shape as he goes.
Or he just loves alcohol and steak.

Any group of people that take themselves too seriously, Matt & Trey come right after them, and I respect the hell of them for it.
They are the last real true satirists left in TV. Yet they get no credit for it, because they don't play the Hollywood game.
Did anybody catch the "Last of the Meehicans" episode a couple weeks ago? Instant-classic, and probably their best show in at least two years.
That episode was amazing, and fucking wrong on so many levels.
I loved the end where the border patrol were begging Mexicans to come back.
Matt Stone and Trey Parker are incredible. What people don't know is they write every episode after the last one aired. Meaning they have 6 days and often times the episodes aren't turned in until a couple hours before they are supposed to air.

From Dallas Observer‘s new interview with Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil:
On the new album you’re working on now, are you contributing more?
Yeah, I’m definitely contributing more. With guitar bands, fans want to hear the guitarist’s ideas as a song. But the good thing about Soundgarden is that everybody in the band writes songs on guitar. The drummer Matt writes songs on guitar. He’s not introducing songs on drums or piano or anything. Even our bass player Ben: As opposed to introducing songs on bass, he primarily introduces songs on guitar. So I’m the guy that has to learn everybody’s guitar nuances and styles and play their songs. So regardless of whether it’s me or the other guys in the band, we are a guitar-based band. I am contributing more, but I think the good news is that everybody is contributing.

James is going to be pitching a tent over this.
