#152 Re: The Sunset Strip » Sebastian Bach Live On AXS TV » 684 weeks ago
I couldn't sleep around 3am today, was flipping channels and found a Bach live show on HDnet. It was presented by AXS TV? I've never heard of the latter but looked into it this morning and it would appear the show was being broadcast live, as is, from LA.
I watched 18 & Life then set the dvr to tape the rest. Watching Monkey Business now and I gotta tell ya, Baz is sounding awesome.
I saw the title of this thread and was going ask if this was what we were watching in the middle of the night, lol

She nailed down the mystique, charm, sex appeal, and swagger of the character. It wasn't complex or over the top. She got the essence of Catwoman and Selina Kyle on the do. Nolan is a master at his craft! Now we wait for Man of Steel. I'm sure in a few years, Rises & Bane will be more appreciated as much as Ledger's Joker!
I just can't care that much for Man of Steel at first glance. Maybe it's because my only experiences with Superman are basically just from Smallville, etc.
Anyone have any thoughts to sway me?
#154 Re: The Sunset Strip » Most Recent Movie You've Seen » 685 weeks ago
Saw Ted. Again.
We've seen The Dark Knight Rises. I know there's a separate thread for this, but I loved it. We did the trilogy showing, and while that was great, it's going to be a very special series that ever makes me sit in a packed theatre for that length of time again, lol.
I want to see Savages, and maybe will do so on Sunday morning or some other time when Russ has something else to do, haha. I'd also like to see The Watch, although I'm the only member of our house who is interested in it. My friend Jacquie wants to see it though so maybe that'll happen.
Oh, as far as movies we have watched, we watched Friends With Kids over the weekend and umm... It was good. The first 90% was fantastic and the ending was weird but it had a lot of major players in it, which helped.

I just got back from seeing it again. I'm off today and it was only $5 in the day time.
My thing with it is this, if you like Seth MacFarlane, you'll love the movie. If you kinda like Family Guy or don't like Seth at all, you'll be upset I said to see it.
I love family guy...the wife? Not so much.
Same story in our house.

So I saw this floating around the interwebs today:
http://i49.tinypic.com/slij9s.jpg
Apparently there's a group out there claiming some sort of conspiracy which I think is crazy.
If I say anything here that's already been said, I apologize. I've got thoughts that need to get out and I don't wanna flip through the pages and change my thoughts before I write.... Here goes.
My thing with this photo today is this:
It's the same dude. I'm not sure how people can't see that. I understand that he does look slightly different in the photos, but they're taken from different facial angles. The photo on the right has his chin tilted up higher, and his eyes are different because your eyes naturally look different when you're smiling, or in the case of the photo on the left, smirking.
If you take a look at his ears, you'll see that the placement is right, and they're the same.
The people saying that they arrested the wrong guy are just killing me! How about this. They found a dude. Next to a car. Registered to J.H.
He surrendered.
How do you think you have the wrong guy? You think that someone came in, shot up the joint, then took off? And someone else is there, standing by to take the blame? Nope.
I can't stand that everyone out there is looking for a government conspiracy and someone else to blame. This guy went nuts. He was used to a life of ease and when he found something that challenged him to the point of failure (apparently he failed an exam a few days before purchasing the first weapon), he lost his damn mind. It's not that far fetched.

Here's one book you should buy quickly and read;
What is it about?

Recently, let's see...
The Hunger Games Trilogy - Loved them all, but especially Catching Fire.
Deadlocked: A Sookie Stackhouse Novel - Can't stay away from it. The stories are getting a little far-fetched, but that's what they are: stories.
The Help - It was fantastic. I can't remember if I wrote about that here before or not and am currently too lazy to check.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter - I downloaded it, read a few pages, and can't get any further. If I get desperate for something to read, I'll go back to it.
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo - I really did try to read this book, I promise. I keep being told that if I get further into it, I won't be able to put it down and then I'll be hooked for the entirety of the trilogy. This is another one I'll go back to if I'm desperate or somehow find myself with an entire day to read and not do anything else.
Last, but not least, I'd like to leave you all with this gem:

I'm probably the only one in this joint who has seen Magic Mike, lol. It was good for what it was. I don't think anyone was going for a hard hitting plot. It did tug at your heart strings a little, lol.
Ted was good. Russ liked it more than I did but I did find it very funny.
We watched The Town recently at home, which was AWESOME.
I watched The Vow on Monday night at home and that was great until the very end, but that didn't ruin the movie for me.
We rented Gone last night and that was also good but slightly annoying. The lies the main character tells to get around are really annoying.

There was definitely no Dexter last night. And yeah apart from the security guys trying to get tough with me/us and treating me like shit, everything was amazing. There was one fight we saw and it wasn't awful but at least one person got arrested. Hopefully two. The guy we know got arrested wasn't the instigator so I'm hoping that doucher got in trouble too.
There's really nothing I can add to what Russ said, but I can say the shit I feel like at work today is worth having been up until after 4am for that
