well, to be fair, we don't know if annother album will be released.

Precisely. I'm sure that's how Universal looks at it too. At the moment they have a roughly $13+ million sunk cost. If CD performs well and Axl delivers a couple more albums to them that also sell well, then the cost isn't such a huge deal although that is still a ton of money for 3 albums even.

true but if you spent all  that money and recorded 40 -50 songs and after releasing one album, consisiting only of songs that had been leaked over the years and the rest were 90 percent, would you release it or would you let all that time and money go to waste? now add all of the other hands in the cookie jar..................

i am not saying it's not true but, again, it's different everyhwere. kinda like the single being played to death on some radio stations and others not being willing to play it at all.

"flop" may be appropriate as this should sell heavy the first week at least.:ummm:

hmmmm the best buy in my neck of the woods almost ran out yesterday. the local news also claimed that it was selling fast.

cd has been on the news, all over the internet, tons of in store promo at a lot of the best buys, commercails on the radio, commericals on tv, dr pepper, etc.

the cd is being promoted just fine

and 15 mil now? where did that come from. it's been 13mil since axl was cut off. that reminds me................

ATTENTION TO ALL: IT DID NOT COST 13 OR 15 MILLION DOLLARS TO MAKE CHINESE DEMOCRACY!!!!!

there is obviously a lot of material that came out of the recording process that we have not even heard of in addition to the many additional rumored songs we have. i think it's safe to assume the label didn't extend any additional 13 or 15 million dollars multiplied by two for the additional 2 album's worth of material on top of the 13 mil you claim they spent on cd alone.

so unless axl/gnr is gonna praised for making additional albums at zero cost stop feeding the bullshit machine.

cd is a great album

the money spent on it didn't make it great - it made it a clusterfuck
but the music endurred

the music, when you get past all of that stuff that shouldn't concern us anyways, is great IMO

scraped is not loved by many compared to the other songs
go to any thread based on putting these songs in order of priority and it will be on the bottom of every list. it's the least popular song on the album.

everyone has their favorites. i like scraped too but i accept that it is not axl's pride and joy. look at all the songs we heard about over the years, subtract shacklers and scraped and that's about all of them

i think he is fine
just not ready to make a big deal out of this
you guys said the same thing regarding the promo/announcement and then all of the sudden we had an updated website and a single

it's not a problem olorin - it was inentional. to me, appetite has two songs that are filler: you're crazy and anything goes. yet appetite is regarded as a perfect album. every album has filler. i like scraped but i called it filler becasue it will not be on the radio and not because it not catchy but because it brings nothing exceptional to the table but people can still love it just the same and some people will. they could have left scraped off of the album but they didn't. there is something for everyone on this album and it is intentionally designed that way. that doesn't mean that it isn't filler and it doesn't mean that it is a bad song or album. music preference is subjective and if more people liked scraped there would have been more songs like it on the album but more people tend to like twat and sorry so we get more of these and thank god 16

Really?  Finally releasing an album after 14 years, having brutal production value on songs that were finished 4+ years ago, not doing ANYTHING to promote it, and missing 2 of the key guys that wrote the songs doesn't sound a lot like someone that has their shit together to me, but maybe I just have higher standards than you guys do.

The guy is AWOL (as is the rest of his "band" with very, very minor momentary exceptions) in the weeks before the most hyped album release ever and you guys think everything is ok with Axl?  I hope none of you are psychologists responsible for putting insane criminals back on the street because they seem to be ok.

higher standards? you are something else, buzz.
ever seen a trainwreck?.........destroyed train and track, damage to anything in the area like forest or buildings, deaths, etc.

do any of these things sound like axl?

if i say no it's not because i have low standards it's because it's an unfitting analogy.

i am not denying axl's wierd behavior but is it going to stop you or anyone else from buying the album?

is it really synonomous with a trainwreck?

i also have a question for anyone saying axl went awol: axl has been seen in public and has reportedly turned down an interview with mtv. does this sound like someone who is awol? or someone that simply is not ready to make a big deal of himself at the moment?

as far as a reunion for this show. the only way it is possible is if the old band is willing play a new song and if everyone else is onboard, obviously. how rediculous would it be to go back to playing old material the day the new material comes out and in supprt of it. obviously, a reunion will push sales to the extreme but the timing is not right if htye are going to play jungle or paradise city.

"to all of you young and potentially new fans out there: go buy our brand new album, chinese democracy, which is in stores now. In the mean time, here is a bunch of songs you have all already heard."
