#1621 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl Rose vs. Bruce Dickinson: who's the best? » 525 weeks ago

Hmmm...Axl at his best is way better, Bruce is more reliable and consistent but then his songs are not as vocally punishing overall either. Both great though.

Slash does tend to improve his solos on the road. To be honest this one is already sounding amazing to me. But I can imagine it getting more crazy as he gets into it.

Theaters are about to allow people to use their phones during movies.

Read that the other day. It's a terrible idea. The light from mobile phones a few rows in front can really illuminate the room and be very distracting when you are trying to watch the theatre screen. Especially in auditoriums with stadium seating as then even if the person in front is slumped down you have this bright light aiming up at your eyes.

I'm not anti-technology in general but I am starting to think things have jumped the shark a bit recently.

Ok...so I have to say...I'm geeking out hard for this reunion...loving it....

but for pure fun I thought I'd post a poll to see what aspect of the reunion is shitting off the fanbase the most.

After-all Axl knows we can't be pleased...it seemed a good time to prove it.

Tell me - what fucking sucks the most?

Ahh ok.

I see your point then.

Business Wise if you were going to release a new hits package it should be out by now to capitalise on the attention of cochella and the Axl/Dc stuff. Don't know about you guys but my facebook has become full of GNR stuff recently.

So it would be odd to drop a second greatest hits late in the game.

Then again....GNR often times things sort of badly to me. Like that secret show would have been awesome if it happened before the coachella announcement just out of the blue. But doing it after selling Coachella and Vegas tickets seemed backwards. Likewise although I take your point that they shouldn't do it - I can also imagine them dropping a record after the tour and not during/before like most bands.

I just went to read an article on the CNN website, seen an advert for Greatest Hits. It was definitely a new one.

I don't see how they could put out a volume 2 or a "Very Best Off" if they're going to be pushing the one already out on TV during the tour.

So it was a new greatest hits package? Did it give any details?

Or do you mean it was a new add for the old package?

I've noticed the faster pace too,

The problem isn't the faster pace, it's that the pace is inconsistent within the songs.

If they just played the song start to finish at a faster pace than the record that would be one thing - and perhaps not entirely bad - might allow more songs in the setlist given the slow pacing of a number of GNR tracks.

The issue though is that the songs seem to start at a certain pace then speed up throughout.

This causes people to get out of time with each other and I don't think that part would be by design.

#1628 Re: Guns N' Roses » Guns N' Roses: Coachella, April 16 » 526 weeks ago

The timing thing is a curious issue though.

Frank played the songs in time in nu-GNR.

Slash played the songs in time in Conspirators and VR.

What has changed?

To am addict they claim you can't be around that stuff.

I hope Slash and Duff inspire each other to stay clean.

But I think being around casual users is always a danger - the "go on just have one drink - it won't change anything" people who don't understand how relapses start - as is doing things you used to do fucked up. So like the whole atmosphere will be a reminded of old GNR with glory days people back around and so on.....risky situation.
