\But seriously, I keep seeing the claim there's no evidence to support the "Matt's an asshole" claims, and when it's presented, it doesn't count!! I think we need to start the Matt Sorum Apologists Network.
Well it's just amusing to me, because, as I said there's people in GNR who have done very questionable things yet we overlook them.
It's not that "Matt's Moments" don't count, it's that they don't amount to very much compared to "Axl's Antics" or "Slash's Sins" 
I mean what are his crimes? He felt that amateur singers they auditioned didn't have the rock credentials of Axl/Scott and the UYI era band. Also he made some jokes about UYI and called out the guys for firing Adler at the hall....
I just think there's some double standards at play in the fanbase over these issues. Like I read every day about how Adler needed to be gone cos he fucked up - but I mean Slash actually DIED just before a show. What would have happened if the didn't revive him or he woke up with damage? But he gets a pass for his behaviour when basically it's only luck.
Likewise Axl seems to mostly be a nice person, but when he isn't then he sure as hell has his moments, there's a reason the guy himself thought he was possessed, Erin said Axl beat her and raped her in the ass....but no one on here uses that as a reason that he shouldn't be singing last weekend.
Yet Matt is held to a higher standard...he apparently is too much of an asshole to be in the band because he's kinda a straight talker and he calls out shit he doesn't like....but other people in the band are not held to this sort of account...they are allowed to play despite their crimes!

So I think there's a 1am noise curfew.
This gives GNR a possible 2.5 hour set time.
But if there's any form of production delay, or if GNR don't go on stage on time....we could be looking at a short show.
Wonder if Slash will do a Sit-In like DJ did at Leeds a couple of years back.......

I'm not saying matt's a saint, but I guess my thing is I see him as one of the least problematic in GNR!
If things like him not being into the other VR candidates bug you guys I can only imagine what you make of it when Axl eats a Parisian security guard, or is ruthlessly "held down by 5 fucking assholes when he's not even fighting", or goes off at someone who touches his car door or whatever

Axl never tried to reduce Slash from partner to employee until after Slash refused to move forward with GNR and threatened to go solo and hold the band hostage.
That's interesting - but what do you mean by "go forward" exactly.
Slash's take was that Axl wasn't interested in the snakepit demos - while Axl seems to think he was but Slash wouldn't allow him the time to work on them.
However I've read Duff say that Axl rejected everything from anyone for a period of years.
Was Slash refusing to go forward meaning he didn't want to work on Synth type tracks?

I thought Matt's behavior in the VR doc when they were looking for a singer was douchey. Btw, Duff reemed his ass for being an asasshole on that show.
Yeah duff called him out for being negative about the singer auditions. But Matt explained that he just didn't feel it was worth wasting time with people who clearly weren't on their level. I think time demonstrated that Matt was kinda right on that one - the demos that leaked before they hired scott are no where near the quality of what they did with scott!
And his behind the music interview was dickish, saying he thought he joined a rock band but bitching about the piano.
I always thought that was kinda a joke. Let's face it Axl's ballads are a polarising thing, we love them, but I can't mention GNR without someone mentioning dolphins too lol

His logic would be he was in the band from day one before the Appetite line up and the people that were in the band with him from day 1 quit.
Yeah but that's warped at best. Like Izzy, Slash and Duff quit after being turned into employees in something they helped create. Sure Axl was around in the band before the AFD line up - but that line up was going no where ala Rapid Fire.
Adler is the drunken embarrassing friend you have. I don't think he can go the places Axl Rose and rest of the band would want to go if they release something creative. The weakest link in the AFD 5.
I'm not advocating having him back as the full time drummer. But I don't see why he can't be wheeled out and allowed to play Nighttrain every night as part of the encore or something that would give him something to live for in life yet cost the band nothing.
Going to disagree with your Matt assessment. I think he's an asshole.
Based on what though?

If it comes down to saying the right things. I don't see how Slash/Duff could listen to this and feel comfortable.
That's what I'm getting at - like online I keep reading about how Matt is a dick - but the truth of it is GNR is a band of people that look out for number one.
Axl taking control of the band and turning partners into employees was kinda fucked.
Not letting Adler have even a cameo insignificant role is kinda fucked.
You all know how much I love these guys but I don't think Matt is any worse than anyone else in the band.

That "deal" or whatever between Adler and Sorum sounds sweet and all but I don't believe a word of it. Its the kinda stuff you say when nothing is happening and they thought it wouldn't happen. Now that it is happening, its gonna be every drummer for himself.
I dunno he did the right thing at the Hall of Fame.
At a minimum he was at least advocating for Adler, I mean given the history, the smartest thing if he wanted the gig himself would be to STFU and not make any kind of statement let alone a demand for Steven.
Tommy Stinson: 17 years. Ya know, I, the back story on that I don't really want to talk about on air. What happened with it, it has nothing to do with Axl or any of that stuff. It had more to do with my personal situation. Basically, I played my last gig in Las Vegas with them and had to come home and tend to that the best I could. While Replacement's things were kinda being offered up. And, I you know, I sort of, I don't know. I think that my guess is...that at some point someone is going to call me and tell me what's up with that. Cause we've all left, we've left on friendly terms it not like a bad thing. Another guitar player DJ Ashba I think he "officially" quit to do something but ya know I just, ya know, I had to walk away and take care of my stuff so. Taking care of my stuff, whatever my stuff is.
Tommy has substance abuse issues IMO. He looks very drunk in all the videos I've seen since 2009 at least.

But his passive-aggressive twitter posts the last couple days could be interpreted as a guy who feels like he should have been on this tour.
