I grew up poor with parents that were together on again/off again and I haven't killed anyone. People need to stop making excuses. It's a choice. It's easier than doing the right thing. We coddled them for so long and gave them stuff for nothing...what did we think was going to happen?
Yes but that is YOU and your personal experience. If you grow up in the ghetto, with and environment of ignorance, violence, drugs, and a family breakdown 24/7...who raises you? How will you value others? How do you value education? How do you value your health? The law? What would the odds be of breaking free from that, when that is all you know? I'd say it's pretty unlikely.
Nobody is saying they aren't responsible for their actions, but it's clear there is a cycle of poverty/violence/crime etc that is nearly impossible to break. I had a professor who grew up in the ghetto. He was the exception not the rule. The outlier. Most of his childhood male friends were in prison or dead.
I can also think of two families off the top of my head. Both had parents in a long term stable relationship. Very loving families. Very active parents. Both in safe communities. Six kids total, all of whom are excelling. All of them grew up to be great young adults. My wife and I admire both pairs of parents for what an amazing job they did with those kids. Environment is everything.

Maddow is saying at least 77 dead. This is reaching a boiling point.
Disheartening, and sad.

I don't think Obama will do anything different. Maybe I am wrong.
What exactly should Obama be doing about this? What a pathetic fucking statement. 80 dead people and here you are using it as a platform for your right wing bullshit.

James Lofton wrote:Don't remember what it was about but it had something to do with madison shoveling another load of horse shit on him. I thought he crossed a certain line with his post aimed at her
I disagree.
Axl cemented himself as one of my favorite people of all time for that post. I don't have any sympathy for power-loving bullies who insult and berate other people and don't change their ways after they're called out on their shit. Zero. None. Nada. I signed up for MyGNR in 2002 after getting into GNR and quickly stopped posting because of her and people like her.
IIRC she was trying to play insider at the Slash t-shirt scenario like she had special knowledge from management and Axl's post was letting everyone know she was full of shit and generally not highly regarded.
If it were somebody else I may have felt sorry for Madison in that exchange. But I dealt with her personally behind the scenes, and she was manipulative, dishonest, pushy, and liked to present herself as an insider (pathetic really.) In short, she's not a very nice person. So Axl chewing her a new ass? Yea, zero fucks given from me. And to top it off, that wasn't a come to Jesus moment for her. My dealings with her were primarily AFTER that went down. She clearly hadn't learned a thing.

Some people just aren't interested in forum meet ups....not just because of potential shyness on their part but because everyone knows there are some loons on these forums.
I've met some peeps from forums and it was fun. But other times I was with the Missus and we just wanted to do our own thing/party. Same if we go into a different city that may have people we know.

BLM has legitimate grievances. But their execution sucks. I'm not a fan of them at all.
However, one truth does not negate another. Just because they speak of injustices by police officers does not mean there is not a problem within the black community itself. Nor does it mean they are ignoring that fact or refusing to acknowledge it. It only means they are speaking to that particular issue (blacks who are dealt with much more violently than whites, blacks who receive much longer sentences, blacks who are constantly profiled etc) Sure there are some that blame everything on whitey, just as there are those who blame everything on Obama (see this thread for more deets.) But that still doesn't render their central message false. They do however dilute their core message with their behavior though. (Splinter groups as in ID's post)
There are plenty of black leaders who address what is going on inside the black community. Perhaps they don't get as much TV time as BLM, but to claim they don't speak up on this issue isn't very accurate IMO.
And in regards to "black on black crime." Most crimes are committed inside their own race. There are plenty, if not more "White on white crimes" but you're not going to hear about it, because it's not a talking point of the right.

Seems like his handlers/Lebies' are still trying to stage manage every aspect of Axl's surroundings judging by this:
Pretty lame if you ask me.

An in depth article, seems very well done. It's long, but worth the read.
