^^ Ahh yes, in the eyes of our fearless leader: Paul Manafort, a tax cheat, was a "brave man".... but John McCain, a POW for 5 years, wasn't a war hero.

What?? I didn't call you a racist?!  In fact my exact words were "Not that I was going to accuse you of racism, just I wondered if that was the direction this was going to take."

Definitely tragic, and the rare random suspect as opposed to an acquantance. Sad, we'll see if this murder takes on a life of its own going into election cycle. TBH I thought it would, although the Cohen & Manafort cases took over the news cycle.

Nonetheless, good thought process & forward thinking on that Flagg/Sherlock. It was 'mind blown' when I first read your theory on its outcome. Not sure if you heard that on Hannity or Coast To Coast AM, but you called this.

Saw 2 movies via Redbox, Dunkirk & Wonder Woman. Wasn't a big fan of either.

Dunkirk I think loses alot on TV. Wish I saw it in the theater. I was slightly (selfishly) disappointed that this wasn't more of a 'war movie', more of a great escape. Visually, it was stunning, superb. Which is why I say it probably needed to be seen in theaters. I wasn't a big fan of how the storyline seemed to project most of the events onto the one character, making his tale seem far fetched. Would've liked to have seen it divvied up among characters. The pilot & civilian ship captain were great tho.

Wonder Woman I wasn't a big fan of. I'm not huge on Superhero movies & the story arc for this one was just typical. 20 minutes - Introduce new superhero character, 1 hour superhero finds their way thru life, 20 minutes epic final battle vs villain. Rinse repeat. It was good, well made & produced, just felt like you could interchange many other superhero characters & or films into this one & it's the same. I was hoping for something a bit more fresh. I don't follow the comic, wasn't a fan of the WW2 plot (esp right after seeing Dunkirk lol) but maybe that's the plotline of the comic. Would've preferred a TV show plotline or something.

I’ve listened to it twice in two days and the chorus is stuck in my head. The verses are clunky. But damn that chorus. Must be doing something right. It’s always about the hook.

It's good. It's no 'Bang Bang', but it's good 22 wink

Song sucks, I agree his voice is still there. Wouldn't have guessed he'd have been 69, wow. I'd have thought 60 or so. Yeah, Journey should do a farewell reunion. Even bring the new guy on for a song here & there to give Steve a breather, so long as Steve's ok with that. Also agree he wasted too much time in solitude. Should've been back 5-10 years ago.

Nahh, kinda read Life on a whim, although I like the Stones alot. It's exactly as you say tho, just small little insights & anecdotes. Things about the band early on in Britain, small shows, hanging with The Beatles, song writing & album recording, money issues, drug use etc.  It's nothing graphic, like explicit sex or drug stories, but he brushes over them.

I'll say this, there's a few stories that are almost hard to believe. Just bizarre, I don't doubt they happened, just that it's amusing to think they lived thru that.

Remember when you posted some infographic from Philly.com showing all the great things Obama did.  Specifically how the average income increased under him?  And when we adjusted for inflation we found it actually decreased under his leadership.

Vaguely. That had to be 2 years ago or so, but I sorta remember something like that.

Slightly under expectations, but fundamental good. Unemployment down to 3.9%.

Phew, good thing Obama took it down from 8.3 to 4.8. That's all I kept hearing from Republicans in October/November 2016  Oh and the 4.1 GDP from last quarter, boosted in part to farmers & exporters pushing products out in advance to sneak by foreign tariffs due to Trumps imbecile trade war. Expect it to be far under for Q3, leading right into November. Good stuff.

Interesting point about 'taking him for granted'. I could see that. Definitely was a sick guitarist in his day, and probably some cool as shit on Youtube. I think his music & personality bordered on, not sure how to word this properly, mainstream or packaged rock. I dunno, just no edgy enough. No doubting a tremendous guitarist & was very influential & popular in many bands & solo acts.

Keith Richards book Life is a really good read if you like bio's. He has alot of insights & interesting tidbits, one of which, the keyboardist for Derek & The Domino's who wrote the Layla ending went mad & ended up killing his own mother, bizarre story. I read Springsteens book, wasn't nearly as good. Seemed as if he was blowing off his ghostwriter alot & the writer was starved for stories & details, milking out whatever he could out of it.
