I was thinking the other day about how if you'd told me in 2012 that we'd have an Axl/Slash tour in 2016 and that Axl would be invited to audition for Ac/Dc i'd have called you crazy.
Also - replacing pitman with Melissa was something I would have bet against too.
All possible things - but things that seemed unlikely.
So lets put out some new wild ideas for whatever parallel universe we go to next.
For clarity...you don't need an actual reason to think this could happen...it's not insider shit...it's a game.....

Something like Double Talkin Jive?
Yeah but Slash has been busting that out alone on his last tour cycle.
But still...it's nice to have GNR do it.
Guess I just want "something I havn't had yet"

Curious.
I think the problem with a reunion themed show is always going to be that people demand the performers to be younger than they can be.
My guess is a group of people wrote off the new band entirely for the absence of Slash - so this is prob their first exposure to a modern Axl and they're pissed off that they arn't getting like 1990s sound out of him.
Although I do think if this reunion had come in 2006 we would have the greatest boots yet of the band. It's a pity they waited this late in the game for everyone to make some kind of compromise. I never understood it - like the rest of us work with people who piss us off at times but these guys took 30 years for Slash to tolerate a little synth and Axl to put up with Slash painting stories to the media. Shocking.

And he hasn't said anything negative since, if there were ill will because he was replaced, why would he have apologized? Why isn't he on Twitter now bashing Mellissa? And why did we see tweets from him twice during the hiatus showing he was in the studio with Axl?
He might not have known he was replaced when he apologised, it could have been an effort not to be replaced. As for not bashing Mellissa - maybe you need to give the resentment time to kick in - let's see what he says after cochella. And has he tweated that he was in the studio since his comments?
Still...i'm just playing devils advocate...you could be right.

Well lets just say it did a disappointing amount relative to the talent involved.
Axl is the greatest frontman of his generation and arguably all time (or at least top few).
There were people in the band with exceptional musical ability - I jammed with Bumble once and his skills far outweigh what even most pro musicians can do on a guitar. He's frightening. No doubt Bucket was the same. Let's face it even the worst of that group have something to offer. Then add 30 years and a swimming pool full of cash....and to me one album seems tragically wasteful. I would have liked to see Axl's 3 album vision come to pass...or him to release several albums of some of his best stuff along the lines of Ozzy's solo career.
Anyway, I'm just saying pitman always seemed to come across as the most hostile and entitled out of that modern group, the anthesis of someone like Bumble or DJ who like them or love them seemed to recognise their place in the saga. However I guess if he said those things to trolls that's a bit better..

Good call.
I think for me I just long for something a little fresh.
At the moment the freshest thing we will get will be the CD songs performed by Slash and Duff.
But who knows - maybe vegas might bring an unheard cover or a really deep cut that's so old it's newish again to us as well.

Some of the reactions from the proSlash crowd, who've always shouted about a reunion, have been really strange from this show.
If that means me i've always said that recording is more important than live.
I've been saying it since at least 2006.
Live is killer fun, but the records make history, when Axl dies the live will stop but the records will live.
Also as far as pro-slash, I've always said he was my favourite guitarist but it's also well known the Chinese Democracy songs are amongst my favourite songs and it's one of my favourite albums.....
