I'm the one who said Friday, if I can just go ahead and call myself out. That's what I was told by a very reliable source when all of this was starting to snowball. I shared it here. I didn't intend to start a rumor and I do not believe I have a track record of being deceptive or misleading or making false, wild predictions. I confirmed the Body of Lies song as being legit way before anyone cared to pay enough attention. I don't come out with these things too often, but when I do, give me the benefit of the doubt and please listen. I have legitimate connections both within the media and industry itself. Again, I was told that Axl Rose was preparing his own "press release" for Friday. Whether or not he delivers on Friday is up to Axl, I guess. I still stand behind it.

both citr and riyadh were not supposed to be on the album according to gnr

i agree james that we shouldn't expect any surprises but..........
there are so many track names that have been talked about by producers and musicans as being strong tracks that are not on this tracklist, i have a hard time believing some of these songs (without mentioning any to avoid arguments) are the best of the whole bunch. if the two songs i am referring to are better than rest of the songs that are not on cd i don't think there will be a second album from the new band. having said that, i am excited about this album although i wish axl would've found a happier medium type tracklist between songs for the noobs that haven't heard any new gnr and songs for the people that have stuck with him through all of the let downs(us downloading mother fuckers). 3 unheard songs???

i am just sick of hearing a supposed inside scoop that there will be a major announcment on this date or by this date and it doesn't happen. it's happened 3 times in the past three weeks. not here til now. this will be the fourth if it doesn't happen tomorrow.
we have all weathered the bs rumors over the years but now that we are clearly in the final hour everybody's antennas are up and people like me lose precious sleep when bullshitters lie and supposed insiders prematturely let the perverbial cat out of the bag in their final attempt at prophetic glory

As you know I expected it to be a low key affair with very little promotional effort by GNR, but their total silence is truly baffling. I can see why he might wait another week or so and have a couple interviews in RS, People,etc. and doing a tv show or two, but at least have someone, ANYONE update that official site.
Maybe they have a certain date in mind for a formal announcement, and they're sticking to it no matter what.
For all the secrecy over the years, its a bit ironic that he's going to be the last person to reveal the details on the release.
it's not only the lack of promo........
right now people that aren't totally familiar with gnr are going to their site after hearing of the recent hype and the first thing they see is a bunch of negative bullshit.
and a very unflattering picture of tommy and axl.
change it back to the rock band news if you do not want to add something new

to me, shacklers is a fun song. not a hit but a decent song. it sounds amazing in headphones for all of the effects going on in the background and will be interesting to listen to on vinyl.
if the world is a great mood song. it's cool if you are doing something else while playing it in the backrgound. it is a perfect song for the credits in a movie.

if the world, like any other song, isn't for everyone. It is probably the fartheset from anything else gnr has ever done. Personally, I think it is amazing but I am not looking for the same old any more.
