I just want Axl to be back to screaming, and if he is I want There Was A Time with slash.....that would pretty much blow my mind.

The bread and butter has always been AFD-UYI even at the height of the CD saga yet now of all times it supposedly shouldn't be?
Lol I'm not saying it shouldn't be! All the hits are from there and it makes sense with Slash and Duff rejoining. I'm just saying there's two ways they could go about this. One is to take the WWE route and erase chinese from history. Not ever mention it. Or the other is to own it and sort of bundle it in with the slash and duff stuff and just never mention they arn't on it.
I'd prefer the later route as it means we'd see Slash versions of the CD songs live, we could get stuff like special editions of the albums with new mixes, or maybe the new greatest hits will have something different with a bit of everything and so on.
I'm just saying there are 8 photos on that stand not including the logo. GNR has 6 studio records. It stood out to me.

Where would you even place it on that display? If you make it bigger to add it, what other album goes next to it?
Not saying they should stock it necessarily but there's pictures of the other albums that also arn't there so I would probably put it where the picture for "Welcome to the Videos" is.
Not surprising though seeing as Chinese isn't a Slash/Duff project. But that's all I was saying we seem to have gone back to the 1990s on this. They're not trying to pass off the newer stuff as GNR as well.

It's notable that there's not even a picture of Chinese Democracy in the background posters on the shelf through. They've even promoted Live Era and TSI above it.....does kinda show this reunion is about a reunion rather than continuing on with Axl's band.

Axl Rose was never proven guilty of beating any women. Those are allegations and have never been proven.
Yeah but it's allegations made by BOTH his ex-wives. It also sits very nicely with what we've seen of Axl publicly - that he's normally a very nice person but seems to occasionally fly into a rage - such as the riot incidents, confirmation from ex-managers that he pushed a piano out a window in a temper, biting security guards and so on.
In this instance I suspect where there's smoke there's fire. As others have said there's some mitigating factors - he obviously suffered a violent upbringing himself, and there's no doubt that people around him pushed his buttons at times and that he was under incredible stress...but still....to me....I accept that along with his musical greatness there's been some questionable moments too....he's human....same with Adler.

Excellent news. I think the guy deserves his moment in the sun.

I should mention with all my Robin bashing in this thread I really enjoyed him in NiN.
The slip was a fun album and he was great live with them.
I just didn't find he had the chops for slash's style. But doing his own thing in NiN he was very enjoyable.
I remember live he played on guitar a lot of the parts that were syth on the record and it was very cool.

...But yes that Adler stuff throughout the years is much, much worse and happened multiple times. I've seen very few people ever even mention the Adler incidents down the year.
I agree the Adler incidents are not well known, in fact, that's the first I'd seen in print about them.
That said i'm not sure they are much much worse. In terms of it happening multiple times Erin alleges Axl used to 'regularly' beat her, as does Stephanie. It's not an isolated dispute over money but a pattern of psychological (denying her house keys, money, removing doors in the home so she can have no privacy, forcing her to sleep outside) and physical (smashing her possessions, smashing up the house mirrors etc, sending her to hospital from beatings, tying her up in a cupboard and leaving her there for hours, brutally anally raping her) abuse.
There's an apologist argument that can be made for both guys: Steven was probably under the influence of drugs and might not be like that if he was sober. Axl suffers from some undiagnosed metal issue (perhaps biploar/borderline personality disorder) and was sexually assaulted as a child himself and so his response to love/sexuality might be affected by his own trauma.
I choose to focus on their art and enjoy the music despite their personal issues and hundreds of great artists over the centuries have done horrible things too. In fact I think it's rare for historically important people to have ethically clean lives - there's often some horrible side issue amongst otherwise great men and women in terms of their achievements.
However if you are going to call them out for it, I don't think it's fair to say Adler shouldn't get to play a show because he is an asshole behind closed doors when it seems there are similar stories about Axl's love life.

As you guys know from the other thread Sorum is my favourite GNR drummer. That said...I strongly feel Adler should be included in some regard so i've voted yes.
He doesn't have to be the primary drummer for the whole set, but I'd like to see a Hall of Fame scenario where he's given some acknowledgement and a little roll.
The way I see it, he'd do it for free, and it costs the band nothing to have him there but it's got to the point where it's out right cruelty to make him miss out entirely. If they were ever friends then I feel just let him do some tiny thing so he can have his moment and end the dream well like the others. No need to put him back as the the real drummer...but give him something..it's sort of classless to let him end his career in a slum when he was with you at 8 years old or whatever.
Something like just let him come out only for the encore, or hell, only for paradise city to close the show each night. But give him something.

With these shows coming up I know a lot of us are starting to feel the blood flowing about what might happen.
If you were in charge what would you have the band do? All new stuff just written? Lost CD2 songs like Jackie Chan? Lesser played Chiense Era songs like "Oh My God" and "There Was a Time"? Perhaps the UYI material that's been ignored for so long like "Double Talking Jive"? Or stick to the hits of AFD?
What's your dream setlist?
