#1941 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl's fired and re hired Azoff 3 times in last 5 weeks! » 883 weeks ago

Of course another spin on this article is it was an intentional leak from Azoff's camp.  He then gets off scott free for any responsibility for fact that CD's release ended up looking like a dogs breakfast.

By getting in first and also throwing in the comment about Axl's mental illness people automatically assume "poor Azoff how did he possibly manage to work with that crazy guy, he must have had the patience of a saint..." etc etc

He can then walk away from the whole clusterfuck with his professional reputation intact and a cool $2M.  Axl is left sitting at home with only $1M from the saga and a career sitting on a knifes edge.

My take on it is there is probably blame on both sides for the shithouse way CD came out and how it was handled.  It's certainly not all Azoff's fault by any stretch of the imagination, but at the same time I doubt all the blame is Axl's either.  I'm sure there are simply too many people with their own agendas around Axl that he doesn't know which way to move or who to trust, consequently he becomes almost paralysed unable to move, trying second and third guess every decision before he makes it.  He then ends up making no decision.

I thought that they always considered Prostitute to be a Big Gun.

#1943 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Stephanie Seymour Getting Divorced » 883 weeks ago

I was a big Cindy Crawford fan too, she was my favourite brunette and Claudia Schiffer was my favourite blonde.  For a redhead I was quite fond of Angie Everhart.

Seymour was up there for me as well as some of the other Sports Illustrated Swimsuit girls.  I remember getting the playboy with her in, I think the title on the cover read something like "By order of Axl Stephanie gets her panties off for the last time".

I used to really rate Elle too, but nowadays compared to the other models from that era I think she hasn't aged quite as well.  The skin on her chest looks like leather from too much sun.  Don't get me wrong, I would still poke her in the whiskers but there would be some other models from that era that would be ahead of her now.

Karen Mulder was another SI chick that I would have loved to drill.

On a separate note, an Aussie girl I went to school with - Kate James ended up in the 1994 SI Swimsuit issue.

Yeah Izzy jamming with them is great.  I think Izzy brings a LOT to the table with his songwriting skills and hopefully there will still be an old spark there that shines through in the music.

If Slash still has a reunion in the back of his mind, it wouldn't hurt him to try and put his best foot forward for a change.  If the 4 do write together on the one song and are able to capture something killer then I think that's a positive.

Whilst I like VR and the 2 albums, since Slash left Guns, for me, there has only been glimpses of his brilliance here and there.  But unfortuantely there is been a lot of "run of the mill" stuff in between.   Hardly inspiring if you are Axl sitting on the sidelines wondering whether you ever want to work again with this guy.  In fact didn't Axl say words to that effect in one of his online chats?

I would say to Slash, get all 4 to play on the one song.  BUT only if you are able to come up with something good, if it doesn't click don't force it to happen.

Just because you didn't get a golden ticket James tongue

What a bizzare matchup.

I voted Wonka - never been a big horror fan.  Maybe if they chopped up some Oompa Lumpa's Wonka may get some more votes in this one.

What we've got here is failure to communicate

(Actually is it possible to have failure of something when it was never there in the first place??)  10

#1949 Re: Guns N' Roses » Tales Of The Bumblefoot : An Exclusive Interview With Ron Thal » 884 weeks ago

Great interview by Ron.  As you say James, the non-GNR related questions/stuff I find more interesting now since he can't/won't give anything else away.

That interview where I said I was unsure about a tour was from months ago - it doesn't mean that this is the current state of things.  And I NEVER announce GNR bizz, not for me to do, I don't do it.

Regarding the above statement, I suppose you could look at that either way.  He WAS unsure about a tour when the interview took place but now that's not necessarily the current situation.  Therefore the current situation could be:

1. He knows there IS going to be a tour, or
2.  He now knows that there is NOT going to be a tour.

I suppose it depends if you are a glass half full or half empty GNR person as to how you want to read it.

Hmmmm - I can't believe I have sunk to the level of analysising individual words and statements from a band member to try and get a clue as to what is bloody going on  18  - Shame on me!

Loved T2 - will never forget the first time I saw it.  Awesome close to me all time favourite.

I was disappointed when I finally saw The Good the Bad and the Ugly a few years ago.  Just not what I expected - almost a strange film.
