It's just an internet poll, who gives a shit if it's rigged? GNR have been promoting the poll through there Facebook page, twitter, most of the fansites have posted about it etc. Why's it so hard to believe that GNR still have fans?

Well, I've been to a concert for one and didn't see that many.

It's a joke, that's all.  I don't really "care" that it's rigged, but we should acknowledge that while we're celebrating it.  That's what we're celebrating - not that GnR is better; we're celbrating the fact that GnR fans can rig the voting better than most.  Most hardcore Beatles fans probably don't use the internet much and they certainly don't need the internet's approval to know they are the greatest rock band ever.  Only GnR fans would seek internet approval as some badge of honor to the point of trying to rig every vote they are up for.

In order to have a decent quality rip, would the performance have had to have been a decent quality?

We've reached insanity for sure now.  This is awesome...I wonder how far into the abyss we can go if we let this thing keep going.

It's not even in my top 10 GnR songs.

As I said...if John grew up listening to Axl's songs, the way Axl grew up listening to john's then he'd be influenced by Axl.

They're a great band, but some of the "best ever" thing just amounts to earliest.

They weren't the first.  They were the first to make it because they were that good; that special.  You can't say era caused it then turn around and use Slash being a better guitarist is a reason GnR is better.

I think you're missing the point.  EVERYBODY was influenced by SOMEBODY.  If you trace back the influences of almost every great band since The Beatles began, it traces back to them (even the Stones).  Nobody else can claim that.

Well, The Beatles have a ton of number 1 hits, so I'd venture a guess that the songs were catchy as hell.  I love the original band as much as anybody, but there's no rational way you can say they were better than The Beatles.  You're free to like them better if you'd like.

I don't know that I'd ever label Axl as "normal" but you do get glimpses like that Slash story a few years ago that show a pretty normal guy.
