as far as singing along with the leaks..........
i don't think axl has a problem with '"downloading motherfuckers" either
but
also consider the possibility that, unless you were singing along at the first concert to unveil that particular leak, he may have just though you heard them played live at another show
and that is the only thing that stopped him from jumping into the crowd and beating the piss out of you
I wasn't - good point, I'da cried like a baby if that happened!

...it's nice to see a band more worried about their musical legacy than making an easy buck.
Based on the numerous line-up changes, independently documented legal hassles and all the OTHER delays in the release, ChiDem can hardly be described as "an easy buck"!
Unless that is you live in a weird parallel universe where most people make their living by mining gold nuggets out of granite with their raw and bleeding teeth....

He condemns his fans for downloading the leaks of new his songs, and then plays those same songs in concert.
They were probably figruing the songs had already been heard by a large number of fans and they might as well shake them out live, after everything I've read ity seems like the delays on ChiDem were not of the band's choosing, so why not make the best of several bad situations and just play the stuff people are forumming and stuff about?
Probably the most significant moment was when I was singing along with Better and Axl gave me the thumbs up.

Swear I caught that big bouncer guy glaring at me & my neighbouring sing-a-longa downloaders during those songs!
Yeah exactly, casual fans never want to hear new songs. They want to hear the hits that they know. And if the lead singer EVER announces "this is something off our new album", you're guaranteed a mass exodus to the concession stand/bathrooms.... It just happens.
Done it myself with other bands, it sucks to be hit with stuff you don't know and doubly so when the band's "changed direction" or whatever and the new stuff sounds NOTHING like the old stuff.
Esy to be on the inside looking out at people who act like that to GnR when we all heard the new stuff anyway (like I said above) but yeah, new stuff you don't know, that's not what you might think you've paid for, and oftentimes the first time you hear a song live the lyrics and hooks are just so much mush.

I still think Axl doesn't want the hassle of being famous anymore. Been there done that now he can just live comfortably with no headaches for the rest of his life.
God Bless him if that is the case.
