Myles Kennedy joins Kings of Chaos in SA
2013-05-15 15:22
Kings of Chaos adds extra CT show
Rock legends supergroup heading to SA
Skid Row vocalist Sebastian Bach will be replaced by Myles Kennedy from Alter Bridge for the Kings of Chaos concerts in South Africa, it was announced on Tuesday.

Rock legends supergroup Kings of Chaos is performing in Cape Town on 7 and 8 June at the Grand West Grand Arena, and at the Sun City Superbowl, North West, on 15 and 16 June.
Known for his vocal, guitar playing and song writing abilities, Myles Kennedy is best known for his work with rock band Alter Bridge, as well as being the lead vocalist in guitarist Slash's solo project, Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators.

When Guns n Roses were inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 2012, Myles Kennedy was chosen as the vocalist to front the band in the live performance on the night. He is currently at work on the fourth upcoming and untitled Alter Bridge album, as well as his first ever solo album.

Rock anthems

Kings of Chaos consists of Guns N' Roses rock stars Slash, Matt Sorum, Gilby Clarke and Duff "Rose" McKagan as well as Def Leppard's Joe Elliot and Vivian Campbell, Deep Purple and Black Country Communion's Glenn Hughes and Collective Soul's Ed Roland.

Collectively, these artists have sold in excess of 300 million albums worldwide and together they have penned many of the most defining rock anthems of all time.

Kings of Chaos will perform some of their greatest hit songs in a two-hour display of frenzied guitar riffs, pounding drums, resonating bass and trademark raspy vocals.

Tickets for Cape Town are priced from R445 and R375 for Sun City and are available at Computicket.

It'd be the first time in the history of rock that someone's undercredited! 16

Anyway, since VR have a full album without vocals and Baz is one of my all time favourites, I'd love them completing those songs. Slash could still use his new ideas for his Myles project.

Yes, Baz can scream his lungs off give you that.

Although you meant it to be ironic, you hit the nail on the head. Those amazing vocal melodies are Baz's creations. No way Snake or Rachel would have been able to write them. They wrote the music and most of the lyrics, but Sebastian did the vocal melodies. Most bands (including GN'R) credit that. Skid Row didn't.

Baz`s " work" was n`t similar to Axl`s, Axman had huge input in Guns`s music unlike Baz, who just added his vocals to whatever Snake and Scott Hill handed him. He doesn`t have writing chops.

That doesn't seem to make any sense since Skid Row's albums have went down hill since Sebastian left, and Sebastian's solo stuff has been pretty damn good.
So clearly, Sebastian's input is more valuable than you think.

Thanks for the link!

I think it's pretty good guitar playing. Very Slashy, yet different. You feel it's "only" a collabo and they didn't explore the whole song together, but the result is still very good. 21

Slash will join them in SA

This is a pseudo-VR reunion. I hope they'll be able to work out the musical differences. Also, it's intriguing to see Slash and Axl's buddy, Sebastian Bach perform together.

Is the nature or being interested in something in the internet era also partially to hate it?

No, not at all. I love Slash's stuff and although I have problems with some of his actions, I still like him (as a person or public figure). I love Tori Amos' music, sick of her liberal bullshit but it doesn't effect my musical journey. I love Led Zeppelin, but think Robert Plant is a poser. Etc. Music comes first, music means the most, cause they're musicians, anyway.

So, no.

But since it's in the GN'R topic, the elephant is in the room. To tell the truth, I don't care about them anymore. But it can change. I say new music or fuck off. I don't give a damn about them until there is something new to listen and something worthy to listen. I barely visited the GN'R section in the past weeks and didn't post, but since at least a dvd is going to come out, I checked the promo and saw an awful lot of bullshit that made me post again, cause I felt they're insulting my (our) intelligence and fandom. I used to follow this pathetic Axl saga just for a sake of it, like a train wreck, but it became so predictable and boring, that I gave up. New music or fuck off.

Wow. The "This isn't Guns N' Roses" arguments are coming out?

Not really, I don't care about legal bullshit and we all know the artistic side.

But they didn't use the old logo for more than a decade for the reason we all know - it's a new era. Using the logo of the old era can be a mistake or what's even worse, they're up to misleading people. The explanation can be more simple - Axl wanna prove again that it's the same band that wrote all those songs they're playing in the trailer. If that's the plan, it'll fail.

Not at all.

BTW passive agressive personal insults have become tolerated lately?

Did you guys noticed the old logo in the beginning?

The first time it's used since Greatest Hits and the first time it's used with the "new band" (01-07 had the star logo, 08-13 the chinese lettering).

Good point! 5

I don't know why they need to sell it like something it isn't. It's a fraud.

Prepared for shit storm. 20

It's great that they were finally up to release something. Will check the whole show, for sure.

Although ...legendary rock icons? 2   Except Axl, they left decades ago and even Axl sounds and moves like an impersonator in this 3 minutes. I also don't think that it could be seen or even marketed as the most important/best live experience ever.
Also, why no song clip from the past 20 years? And why Fortus is the face of the rest of the band?

Anyway, something new to listen.

Slash playing GN'R songs alone sounds more Guns N' Roses to me than a whole band of hired professionals...
