My guess is Axl isn't bothered putting an album out 'cause he cannot make enough cash out of it and he is probably too sensitive to face up to the scrutiny.
Its all about the $$$$ now and when you are 50 years old (with a whole family of hangers on to pay) I guess that's inevitable.

I think Axl and Team Brazil know that the re-birth of GNR has been botched so many times that its too late. GNR are now in the same holding pattern as Motley Crew, Faith No more, STP etc.. They left such huge gaps in their output that the fans stopped caring and will only show up in large numbers for the hits. 

So its either: be 50 years old play your new shit in club gigs (where you haven't been since you were a boy) or else play the Greatest Hits and fill a shed/arena, taking home more retirement cash.

U2, Metallica, PJ, Bon Jovi etc escaped this fate as they stayed together and kept working. Soundgarden don't seem to care about the money so seem free to do as they please.

Its about the money now and nothing else. Why bother being an artist when you believe that the whole world has been colluding to stop that happening.

Now that you guys have given me the full picture I see where you are coming from.
The mad thing is that I'm so bored with GNR at the minute that I get entertainment from the so called "insiders" and their mad rambings about having songs.

If people just ignored them instead of insulting them they may actually have a better time of it. These people thrive on attention - any kind of attention, even the insults.

Jarmo should know better and simply challenge Halo to drop his lyrics or tune in a PM to prove he is the real deal. The pages and pages of "you know nothing", "you are nothing" just seems an insane waste of his time and probably is giving Halo just what he wants.

Frankly, many GNR fans deserve a good ribbing (I get it from my friends all the time), some of us take all of this waaaay too seriously. I used to get upset but you get over your first love - eventually!!

Halo is no worse than anyone else on that thread. Jarmo flat out told him to fuck off and he didn't bite, just cheerily described the thread as "friendly discussion".

I embrace anyone who has the tenacity to manically hang in over there for 50 pages taking on all the zealots and nutjobs and not once loose his temper. I don't see any post where he was  "a giant douche". The abuse he was slung was intense yet I don't hear you deride that.

He rightfully pointed out that Jarmo comes across as some deranged 15 year old fan on a power trip. We are all big boys and should be able to cope with the more extreme posters so in  this case, all in, I just cannot see where the guy was a douche. he was a PAIN IN THE HOLE for sure, but mostly for the Axlamic Fundamentalists which i enjoy. I'm tired on the manics on each side of the old band argument, and enjoy watching them scramble together crazy arguments in defence of their man.

And Mister ID is totally correct, some well written respectful and fact-based observations on GNR were submitted and Jarmo took a bitchy shit on them all. If meeting your idol turns you into him, I don't ever want to meet mine.

Its the general aftertaste left with the public & press that I'm referring to.
The album was seen as "good" but no great shakes when compared to the old catalogue and certainly not worth 15 years of obsessing & breaking the band up over.
