Can't say I ever cared about the M&M portrayals of gender stereotypes but don't see why folk are so incensed about this.

Just sounds like they made the two women M&Ms (didn't even know they existed) less sexualised and less stereotypically bitchy, the orange one more confident and the red one less of an asshole. Don't necessarily get why that's bad or worth being upset about but at the same time don't think anyone was actually upset about.

I can just picture the woke hipster who wrote that shit.

I imagine this was probably written by a multi person corporate PR team who wrote a bunch of stuff that they think young, socially aware people care about. I'd also guess that actually no one actually gave two shits about the M&M characters to begin with.

DJ Ashba says he submitted “8 to 10” new Guns N' Roses songs to Axl Rose during his tenure, but they never materialized

“A lot of them were too Appetite-sounding,” the guitarist says, adding, “as a fan, that's what I'd want to hear”

DJ Ashba says he attempted to submit “eight to 10” new Guns N' Roses songs to Axl Rose during his tenure with the band.

In a new conversation on SiriusXM's Trunk Nation with Eddie Trunk, the guitarist – who served six years with GNR from 2009 until 2015 – says that his nature is that of a “songwriter/producer, so, of course, I'm going to keep writing”.

He explains that he wrote “eight to 10 [songs] with Guns in mind, but a lot of them were too Appetite [For Destruction]-sounding.”

“To me, as a fan, I'm like, that's what I'd want to hear,” he continues. “And so I was like, ‘I want to write something that sounds like it came right off of Appetite. I think they hit a little too close to home, but there [were] a couple where [Rose] absolutely... He was like, ‘This song is dope.’

“For whatever reason – we were touring a lot – we never got a chance to get him in the studio. But they didn't go anywhere further than just me sending him some tracks and him going, ‘Ah, this one's dope,’ and ‘This one's cool.’”

Ashba departed the legendary rock outfit in 2015 upon Slash's return. He says that around “85 or 90 percent” of the guitar parts he was responsible for live were originally Slash's, so while he could have remained a full-time member, he says that relearning a three-hour show would have been too difficult. “It's muscle memory”, he says.

Elsewhere in the interview, the guitarist – who is also a prolific session musician – recalls recording “all the rhythm” guitar parts on Mötley Crüe's 2008 album, Saints of Los Angeles.

When questioned on albums he's performed on as a “ghost” musician over the years, Ashba mentions Saints of Los Angeles, saying: “I played all the rhythms on it. But Mick [Mars, guitarist] was awesome. [He] was actually in the hospital at the time.”

Ashba is credited as a songwriter on 11 of the albums 13 songs, with the exception of The Animal in Me and This Ain't a Love Song.

Back in November, the former GNR man gave Italian folk classic Bella Ciao an EDM-inspired, guitar-heavy makeover.

Has anyone heard of them reaching out to collectors for memorabilia to photograph? That might give us hints of the time period they are looking to cover.

Apparently the usual suspects have been contacted by the band for this thing.

From what we can gather Hard Skool and Absurd were meant to be released in 2020 but got pushed to 2021 because COVID delayed the tour. Those soundchecks of Hard Skool in Mexico in 2020 kind of confirm that.

The UYI boxset was supposed to be 2021 but according to Slash in that interview got pushed back too because of COVID delays. They soundchecked Pretty Tied Up in 2020 too.

I can't see why they can't do both this year. Oh My God was on the 2018 setlists... it must be a candidate.

Good that someone stuck with an uncomfortable line of questions in that interview and actually got some answers out of Slash. Sounds like we can expect what we got last year for a while - small digital releases of singles, followed up with niche physical releases for hardcore fans that ship months later due to manufacturing delays with a take orders and then go to print model. Eventually once they've done enough they give it to us as an album and if we're lucky there will still be some stuff left for that release.

Bit disappointing but I'll take it. Album in late 2022 at the absolute earliest, but depending on their pace they could run this through until 2024/25.

Wait a minute...

Wasn't this originally supposed to be a 4 song EP?!?

I think this is a separate release just for fan club members.

So we have the CD with four tracks. The 7" with two tracks... and then months after those have gone on sale, probably only selling to the most dedicated fans anyways they put this fan club exclusive version of the 7" with three tracks and some trinkets.

Why not offer this right from the start? The physical releases only started selling weeks after the digital single came out and still haven't shipped. Now there's another edition for sale after they've taken our money for orders. Won't touch this.

What if they sell it as two boxsets (an orange one and a blue one) each priced at a $1000 and released on the same day 16

It would be cool if they provided 3 shows. 91, 92, 93 to showcase the different phases of that tour.

Well it will all even out after the fifth, sixth shot or so. Government is here to help you.

Regardless of how many boosters we get, this all boils down to one simple thing...

You've got a pair of dice in your hand. You have to roll it on the virus or the vaccine. No free passes, mulligans, or do overs.

I briefly rolled the dice on the virus. Didn't want the vaccine and figured the chance of catching Covid much less dying from it was one in millions.

I soon realized my chances were worse than that and then taking into account the fact that I'm not a spring chicken anymore, decided to roll the dice on the vaccine.

This is what the conspiracy communities continually gloss over. The virus isn't fake...the vaccine isn't fake...the outlandish scenarios pushed on those sites are doing more harm than good and a small minority of their members have likely already died.

A handful of the people posted on Reddits Herman Cain Award obviously posted on conspiracy sites.

Do I get a booster on Wednesday or do I risk blood clots, amputations, strokes, and my lungs turning into concrete? How about a ventilator down my throat, catheter in my dick, and a tube up my ass?

I'll take the damn shot. It lowers the chances of that crap happening around 80-90%.

It's just not worth the risk.

This. Every medicine has listed potential side effects. It's all risk calculation.

In this case (and most cases to be honest) after weighing the risks, taking the medicine is the less risky option. This thing can mess anyone up no matter how healthy. Notable case here in Europe now, famous high level footballer at Bayern - Joshua Kimmich - refused to get vaccinated. He recently got Covid and is now rehabbing his lungs. This is a very healthy, in shape, high level professional athlete and he's been messed up bad by catching this thing.

Depends what their contracts said during the CD sessions. Maybe as part of that they gave Axl the option to assume all writing credits for their works if he chose to do so. Maybe they got bought out. The only ones who know won't say so we're all just speculating.

Either way, I still focus on the positive of this interview - they worked on "a lot", the leftover material is it's own "endeavour" and that more is clearly coming. When is the only remaining question.
