^ I'm with you Monkeychow, I'm itching to hear these tunes and throw my 2cents in, but I'm waiting. 17

I'm really curious to hear This I Love in particular and to see how the solo stacks up compared to what others say it needs - i.e. a Slashesque type solo.  Also given the fact this is probably one of the oldest songs and bridges the gap between the old and new band both having worked on it.

Oh well not too many more sleeps to go (I hope I don't die in the meantime).

Well it was Melbourne Cup day on Tuesday here in Oz.  It's a day bascially where most people get on the pi$$ at some lunch/function whether you live in Melbourne or not.

A few mates and I headed out for a few sherbets.  So to continue with my picture posting theme - here are a couple of pics from the day with a few random girls. wink

The chat room now works for me.  I think its because i was still logging on thru the old url. I updated my favourites with the new link to the site and it has fixed the problem.

Also just came accross this on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Guns-N-Roses-CHI … 240%3A1318

Whilst I have seen some CD promos for sale, this one comes with a press release and also a picture sleeve, all the other ones I have seen have simply had a blank jewel case.

I think it has been an intentional strategy by Axl to have a revolving lineup.  By showing that everyone is replaceable it leaves all the power with him.  If he did start another legacy with a new and permanent lineup, he could quickly find himself in the same spot as he did with the old lineup.  Suddenly the other bands members are saying things like "no we want to do this or we don't want to do that" etc etc.  But with the way he has set things up now it's Axl's way or the highway.  Also by having so many different people on the final record ensures that no other band members outshines him and he continues to remain the star and focus.  There will be no other iconic "Slash" type figure in the band to steal the limelight (some may argue Bucket will come close simply for his talent, even though Ron et al have been thrown into the mix too).
