I'm trying not to get overly excited about STP, but damn everything is lining up for it.

The stars are aligning for STP my friends! The signs are all there!
#2453 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Slash Itching To Start New Velvet Revolver Disc » 910 weeks ago
I think he's 'itching' to get it done so they can all do their own things and get VR out of the way.

Here's the clip of Morrison saying on CFR, "I happen to know some things. I mean, it's no secret, half of LA knows STP have venues on hold."

Billy Morrison said on Camp Freddy Radio that an STP mini/major city tour will happen but it "won't affect the future of Velvet Revolver."
Yeah, i don't believe that one bit. It's like saying Axl reuniting with Slash, Duff, Steve and Izzy won't affect Chinese Democracy.
Neemo, i can understand what you're saying. I'm not believing this 100% either. If this is true, it's great news! All the signs have been pointing down this road for a while now... i just hope this is it this time around.

You know as well as i do that most of these rumors are bullshit. However, this came from someone who is credible, and not associated with STP at all. There have been an unusually high number of STP reunion talk over the past year, starting with Scott's comment "every shelf needs two bookends." All the lines point to this being true.
As for VR being over, i'm willing to bet that if Scott rejoins STP, it means the end of VR. You can tell Scott was never really happy with VR, you can tell that just by seeing him live. Scott would much rather pick up where STP left off than keep going with VR.
I think VR will go on hiatus, Slash will go do his solo stuff, and Scott will rejoin the boys of STP. I think STP will do a few shows to let people know they're back, then go into the studio and record No 6.
Maybe my idea for the music video for Get Out the Door really wasn't a bad idea.

I am not going to be fatalistic about this news for Velvet Revolver. Look at Queens of the Stone Age and Foo Fighters. Sometimes a change will do you good. Scott is in my opinion less afraid of change and experiment than the rest of them who seem to hide behind mediocrity rather than expose themselves to any real risk.
STP getting back together means the end of VR. Scott loves STP.

This guy on the VR board mentioned that he heard on Camp Freddy Radio a few weeks ago that STP have venues on hold in the United States, that's just a rumor, not nearly as strong as this Miami Herald one, but I thought I'd add that to this thread.

Wow. This is huge, and if it happens, VR is likely toast even though there are third album talks. They would go on hiatus of course, but the hiatus would become permanent with STP back.
VR may fulfill their contract by releasing demos/rarities or a live album.
If they tour, I am there.
Fuck yeah! I'll be in the front row if this happens!

"....as was Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver rocker Scott Weiland, who told us that we should be on the lookout for an STP reunion in the coming months."

No wonder VR aren't even bothering to make a video! STP REUNION!
This had better be true.
