So basically his solo album has turned into his own little Chinese Democracy.
You got that right. Although I seem to recall him saying a couple of years ago that it was basically done and just a matter of financing issues..

Yeh there was a story somewhere about how Izzy had suggested that he and Duff share the vocals and they just hire a tour bus and start playing. I think in Slash's book (or maybe Duffs) it's claimed that Izzy only bailed when VH1 showed up to film the process of finding a singer. Not read either in a while to be honest
I don't remember in which book it was either, but that story's certainly true. Izzy just doesn't want the drama. A whole world tour with Axl/Slash has its conflicts and drama scheduled. I'm sure he would be up for a few apperances though.

Actually that doesn't sound too far fetched for me. He was interacting with the other players (e.g. the guitar duet with Robin) on some level.., so that may very well has something to do with the amount of personal space he needs.

And hell no if someone suggests Dave Kushner.
That would be too comical. Imagine we would finally get the Velvet Revolver reuinion with 'new' singer Axl Rose.

CD2 has zero value outside of the diehards (and even that is debatable). But my hope is that they finally release a Bluray of the Ritz Show or any classic show from the AFD era. It would be nice to see a documentary and concert of the UYI tours as well.
I'm sure CD2 has a high value for Axl personally...

I agree, he missed his momentum in 2002. It might even still have worked in 2006. He was in good shape then and got good reviews, as he still managed to win people over.
Maybe the best thing to do now is to empty the vault. Release everything. Tour it a little and then close that chapter and get in shape for the reunion.

tejas, wasn't there a rumor years ago that Keith wasn't even playing guitar on stage but has some guitarist backstage actually doing his material? I don't follow the Stones closely obviously so don't know if this was proven bullshit.
edit: Not talking the SB show, just in general.
I call
He messes up way too much for that.
As for Axl/Slash, that is very good news for them personally. I doubt that this means reunion though. Slash is moving forward with a third record with Myles, Duff is working on a new solo disc, a new Mad Season album, and will probably also tour the second Walking Papers disc; and somehow I doubt Axl is willing to throw CD2 away. It might happen some years down the line though.

Fortus tweeted a few months ago that Dizzy's album should be coming out later this year.
For real? I must have missed that one. That would be fantastic news! He certainly would have the time now to deal with whatever issues that prevented the release for all these years.
#249 Re: Guns N' Roses » When's Album? » 542 weeks ago
From what I've heard (not the leak itself) it is legit.
I personally don't expect it to show up on CD 2, but who knows. Since they played it at a soundcheck a couple of years ago it might still be on their radar... +It was actually Axl who called it a demo.

I'd love to hear the re-recorded version of that. Awesome song. I think bits of it actually leaked at some point together with the CD remixes.
