Amazing how if the internet calls out Axl, it's a liar.
It calls out George Bush, it's 100% absolute truth.
Pick your illusion
That's because Axl NEVER LIES.

you dont have to like anything....i'm jsut saying look on the brightside for once instead of dwelling on things you dont agree with! canada is basically getting the first kick at the can this time you should be happy
Sure I'm glad they are touring. But the lack of promo and the rerun of Baz as an opening act leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Oh well. I'll try to go the Baz route from now on.

Just throw out the cover songs altogether I say....just Gnr tracks.
That is actually a pretty good idea. And handsome as well as others who mentionned this. I can't speak for the others but just because I do not agree with everything GNR or Axl does and I do not want to play the ostrich game don't mean that I suddenly hate GNR or Axl. I didn't realise that we had to Baz Axl and GNR to be fans geez!

Yeah, next up...
Due to Bea Arthur's untimely death, Guns N' Roses will not be able to tour this year.
Now don't give him ideas. Let the red one come up with his own ideas man! You'll just work for free.

Well we'll have to wait and see to know for sure but I think it is a safe bet we'll get a rerun from 06 especially since he's bringing the same opening act. So me playing the ostrich game is not an option here. So I'll tell Axl thanks BUT no thanks.
I don't blame ya. They didn't come to Texas last time so I had no option anyway. I doubt they'll come this time either, and if they do, it'll probably be in Houston or Dallas. Dallas is 5 hours away and Houston is 9 hours away from me. So yeah, pretty much not worth it.
I can understand and respect that some are excited about this. And I'm happy for Neemo that he's going and I hope he and all the other fans will have a helluja time. But to me it's deja vu. The best example I can give is this. One of my favorite sitcoms of all time is Seinfeld. And when Thursday nights came I was excited to see a new episode. When it went in syndication it was fun at the beginning because I got to watch reruns of classic comedy. But now if I see a Seinfeld rerun I just yawn and change the channel.

Bank it.
It's pretty much the only thing that sells.
And I don't get it. Cause it's still a tribute band. And I kid you not. When I went to Metallica last week. The guy behind me. We talked a bit and he said he bought a GNR ticket cause he wanted to see Buckethead. So his only other major selling point is gone as well. When I told him that Bucket has left since 04. The guy said "well fuck this! I'm either selling my ticket or giving it to someone else as a gift." Pretty sad actually.

James said it...
Bottom of the barrel.
Never in my years did I ever think that Major League BASEBALL would get blamed for Guns N' Roses poor communication.
I guess the Tampa Bay Rays failing to win the World Series last year was the reason Robin left.
Do not understimate Axl here my friend. I think the bottom of the barrel hasn't been reached quite yet. I think we will get a few more good ones still.

i'd have to agree...though i'd like to see some hard #'s and not jsut what i've posted...jsut cuz tickets are available doesnt mean its selling poorly
anyway back to the opeing act thing...if you have to rely on an openign act to sell your ticket then you are in trouble anyway..and if you are avoidign a show because of the opener then you have troubles as well
i'd have to say that for alot of peopel that they don't even bother with the openers...if you dont like them or dont care then just dont go until the main act comes on
To each his own. I don't think I have problems by avoiding GNR's show because one of the many reasons I will be avoiding this is that Baz is opening. I lived the 80's to the fullest and man I'm just not interested in going back there. Seeing Baz when he was with Skid Row was cool 20 years ago. Now it isn't. It's not even cool based on the nostalgia factor. To me there is no nostalgia there cause basically he will be playing songs from a band he hasn't been in in like I can't even remember when Skid Row fired his ass. And to me GNR brings zero nostalgia as well cause Axl is the only one left on what used to be a fantastic band. And don't be fooled here my friend. Nostalgia is what Axl is trying to sell us here. I bought in 06. It was fine and didn't bring me any nostalgia but it was a fun show. But in 09 or 2010 I'm not buying anymore. Instead I will be enjoying some quality time with my wife and kid and if I feel nostalgic I'll pop in my Skid Row cd's and old GNR cd's. But again to each his own.

I think that Axl is sitting on a real goldmine here. A very good sitcom could be developed with all this stuff. I know I'd watch and laugh.
