#261 Re: The Garden » Political Influence of Music Stars » 951 weeks ago

We've seen it in france too, but i do not like public displays of politics from artists, as much as i don't like puiblic displays of faith either.

I think these issues are private and a celebrity has a lot of power to answer for, so bringing people into their beliefs can lead to tragedies, should they choose someone who reveals himself/herself to be dangerous for the nation.

People follow celebrities like shadows and mimick their liefestyles as much possible, especially youngsters, so manipulating people to vote for one candidate ( and it is manipulation) is something i personally find disgusting.

I think some people have too much time on their hands and i would prefer to see them ( or not see them) do charity work and give 1/25th of their annual salary for Children for instance.

Now is now, kids are tomorow.

Why are they helping people whose goals are all the same, whatever the party ?

Do they care about the people ?

They never did.

Will they ?

Never.

Why ?

#262 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » How often do you listen to Guns? » 951 weeks ago

I don't listen to them much, because it upsets Gabriel.

Now, i don't know if it's the music that upsets him or the state the music puts me in.

It's always brought out a lot of anger out from me, or sadness and maybe he senses my mood change when i listen to the songs ?

It's a bit better when i put a video on, he watches and comments.

Well, i mus admit to not knowing enough of the STP work to pronounce myself and i would have to say that scott weiland is a good artist, as to being a fan ? No, as of now anyway. Liker, not fan ?

You're not, I love it when that disco beat chorus kicks in....

I love it when the drums halt to a pause, then tut tut ( drum drum) onto the roll and OHHHH MYYY GOD, ican't deny this, ect ect...

This song gives me goosepimples and i find it very powerful, i prefer it to some others.

I am in awe with an italian film called " La Scorta", talking of the security that protects judges against the mafia in Italy. Loved it. I must have seen it 15 or 16 years ago now. Very much under rated.

There is also a film whose title i have not been able to find on the net, it's a german movie, black and white, about a man who is disfigured and who falls in love with a blind woman. He is very rich and they fall in love, she can't see how horrible he looks and he eventually pays for her to have an eye operation, she recovers her sight, freaks and leaves him and he kills himself.

I am sorry i haven't responded to your pain before Tom, but in a way, it's brought me back towards my own and i had to take a while washing it off.

I am very sorry for you.

I've lost quite a few people over the years and a lot of family in the recent years, so i understand how painful this must be.

#270 Re: The Sunset Strip » Has a Song ever made you cry? which one, when and why? » 951 weeks ago

Sailing by Rod Stewart.

I always sat in between two countries.
And for over 20 years, i had to take the ferry to go from one to another.
I'd go out on the deck, and watch the shores of one disappear and cry.
Especially when i lived in london, i was leaving all my friends behind.

So when this song comes on, it reminds me how difficult it is to have a soul somewhat split in the middle of the ocean.

Again, about leaving.

Si seulement je pouvais lui manquer by Calogero
( If only he could miss me)

It's in french but here is what it says :

It would only take
A call
A call
Where does my life come from
Not the sky

Tell him about my childhood
His absence
Every day
How to break the silence
About him ?

So true from afar
I talk to him
I learn alone
To fight
So true i don't stop
To think about it
If only
He could miss me

Is he going to be send me a sign
Lacking love
Is not a crime
I have only one prayer for him
If only
He could miss me

If will just tell you
Apart from this
All is well
Apart from a father
I am not missing a thing
I live in another world
I hang on every day
I will break the silence
Around me.

So true from afar
I talk to him
I learn alone
To fight
So true i don't stop
To think about it
If only
He could miss me

Is he going to be send me a sign
Lacking love
Is not a crime
I have only one prayer for him
If only
He could miss me
