isn't this out already, and this is just a reprint of the same, with some minor changes?
i already have this book, it came out late 2007

He puts updates on his blog/website every once in a while about it, supposedly he was just putting the finishing touch to it a few weeks ago.

So unless you're talking about another book, i.e "Reckless Road".

Yeah it came out late last year.  I had a copy but flicked it on ebay after I read it.  It had a different cover with it - it was a black and white photo of Axl with his shirt off.  It was also called WAR.  My understanding was the book in your link is an updated version of that book.

Here is a pic of the first book:

The book was ok (I don't have a major problem with Mick Wall), all though there was nothing really ground breaking in there.  It was more of a amalgamation of all the articles and info that is already readily available on the net.  Unfortuantely, i have found all the GN'R books (except for Slash's and the one by Paul Stenning), to be like that.

Gee I must have touched a raw nerve there for ya - feeling a little unappreciated at work lately????

I have no problem at all with assistants - I have a PA at work and a good PA is worth their weight in gold.  If that's all we were talking about - a normal assistants role then that's fine.

We both know that aint the case in this situation, far far from it.

I also know that during his time in 2001 Zutaut took a call in the studio from Slash - against Axl's wishes.  Axl then went off his head about it and saying that somehow Slash had transferred his negative energy down the phone line and into Zutaut etc.  He then made Zutuat pay $25,000US to get an exorcism done to get rid of Slash and his negative vibes from him.

How do you know this? I mean if it's true then Axl's even more crazier than I've thought.

Someone Zutaut told the story to told me.

Its lines like ^ that makes me believe this album will most likely never be released. Too much chaos and way too many people who have a say that shouldn't even be involved.

After MSL talked to Beta for a couple hours last year, he said something like, "If GNR ordered a pizza, it would take at least a year because so many people have to approve the toppings".

Yeah I thought that quote was classic when he said it!!!

They have had some crazy shit going on there.  Buckehead 18

It seems like buckethead left for basically the same reasons as Slash - coming into the studio every day but most times Axl not being there, playing the same parts over and over, not going anywhere etc etc.  Although the massive $$'s blown on rented gear that's never used wouldn't have bothered Bucket like it did Slash since he wasn't picking up the bill.

Interesting that Zutaut thinks he was set up - it wouldn't surprise me, there is a lot of people with a vested interest in seeing this thing drag on or who had/have very cozy positions that they wouldn't like to see change.

Interesting too that Beta says she thinks Zutaut did hit on Erin - how the fuck would she know, she wasn't even around in those days.

Zutaut says they had pretty well finished versions of The Blues, Madagascar & Chinese Democracy.  He says Atlas Shrugged was also pretty good.  Why is it (with the exception of Atlas) are these all songs we have heard?  Are these the best songs/material that they have??  They only play these ones live, these are the ones that were leaked intentionally or unintentionally.  Im curious that whenver someone involved somehwere over the years mentions some of the music from CD - they seem to talk about the same songs all the time.  Zutaut mentioned 50-60 songs on 4 or 5 cd's each with 12-15 songs per piece - yet these are the ones he talks about and worked on????  Fast foward another 6 or 7 years and it's these same songs that coincidentally leak, get played live etc.  What about all the other songs or do they just suck or are really basic works in progress?

It makes me think that possibly this is the best material that he has?  Probably Prostitute/Sorry is the only other song along with Atlas we have heard about a few times.  I mean with the exception of IRS I really like all the songs that have leaked so far, but how good are the remaining 45-55 songs that we haven't heard - I would hazard a guess that most are well below these songs for quality?

Personally I think that they need to come out and update us on the really important issues such as whether anybody else remotely connected to GN'R has had something stolen (e.g. motorbike, biycyle, their drink from the bar, their underwear from the clothes line etc).

#2709 Re: Guns N' Roses » Fender Signed By Axl, Up For Sale on Ebay » 954 weeks ago

I gotta say that looks suspect to me.  The photo of Axl signing it looks like it was poorly cropped from somewhere else - they didn't even get rid of what ever the picture was underneath it you can still see a bit of it.  In fact it almost looks like a scan of a picture from a magazine.

I would have to say over 90% of the autographs on ebay are fake, I am sure that there are legitimate ones on there but they are usually too hard to determine from all the fake ones.

Well, I guess everyone knows about the album being done (including mixing and mastering, Id say). Baz, Richard, Dizzy and some other "inside" people already said that last year.

Oh I know. But to me "everyone knows that" would mean that it was beyond obvious as if it had been made official anywhere by the GNR camp.

Yeah that statement by Beta "everyone knows that" (if accurate which seems like it is) I found to just be fucking arrogant.  NO everybody doesn't know that for sure - I didn't!  Sure I read the rumours and recently there had been more and more hinting to this fact - but of course nobody had the decency to clarify things.  I have also heard plenty of other shit from rumours to statements from hangers on around the band (Del included) to bandmembers about what was a happening in the past and it all amounted to nought!  So it's not always wise to simply go off rumour and innuendo.  A little courtesy and communication to your fanbase once in a while wouldn't fucking go astray!

I could perhaps see why Beta didn't like what happened with the rest of the article, where it talks about a summer / christmas release and a downloadable release.  It seems like she didn't comment at all about these things but instead the author has used his commonsense as to what a potential release strategy could involve - along with some information he gets from some other unknown source close to the band.  So I could understand how Beta may wanna distance herself from this as only a brief read from someone may interpret that this info came from her - then they end up being held to this and copping flack if it doesn't happen.

At the same time simply pulling the article from HTGTH is just a juevenile way to deal with it, kinda reminds me of those stupid contracts they tried to get photographers to sign during the UYI tour.  This control thing of all information is simply not possible.  The way I would have dealt with it was to get Jarmo to put a brief reply to the article from Beta saying something like "yes I confirmed that it's done, but that's all I said.  Classic Rock have then used their poetic liscence to speculate on a release date and strategy" - or something to that effect.  Simply taking it down just annoys people anyhow and besides there are a heap of other places where people will get the info so it achieve nothing other than making them look bad - again.
