Blabbermouth.net Dec 4, 2008-
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, the most prolific of the burgeoning Massachusetts metal scene's exports, has announced the recording of its as-yet untitled fourth album for Roadrunner Records. The CD will follow 2006's "As Daylight Dies", which is approaching gold status in the United States (signifying 500,000 copies shipped).

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's new album is quite an anticipated event in the hard rock and metal scene and beyond, as evidenced by the fact that the band will appear on cover of Revolver magazine's 2009 Music Preview issue, on stands December 23. Additionally, the forthcoming album was selected as one of Alternative Press' "Most Anticipated Releases of 2009."

For the first time in its career, the band will work with an outside producer — Brendan O'Brien, who has previously helmed recordings for AC/DC, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, PEARL JAM and STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, to name a few. KILLSWITCH ENGAGE guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz, a noted producer in his own right who has recorded all of the band's previous albums, will be taking a co-producer role on this record alongside O'Brien.

The band will record in both Georgia and its native Western Massachusetts. Roadrunner expects to release the record in spring 2009.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE will spend the winter recording the album and will hit the road in the spring for a major pre-release tour (reportedly as part of part of DISTURBED's fourth Music As A Weapon tour, which is expected to get underway sometime in March). Look for more details on that in the near future.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's cover of DIO's "Holy Diver", issued on the special edition of the "As Daylight Dies" CD, became a surprise Top 10 rock radio hit late last year.

I saw No Country For Old Men.

I'm going to have to rewatch it, but it was pretty good.

Also watched The Last Winter and it was total shit.

Next up is either There Will be Blood or Cool Hand Luke.

There Will Be Blood is a great movie. Another good example of Daniel Day Lewis playing a perfect prick.

This could be the future of reissues. Certainly creates a huge incentive for fans to buy an album they already have.

It would be a very good way to jumpstart some dying cd sales.

There's a lot of metal bands I can name you that have terrible fucking production. For instance: The first Atreyu album. I'm not going to lie, I liked it. One big problem is it wasn't big enough. If you're going to produce a metal album, you better put some big guitars on there. One guitar on the left, and one on the right isn't going to cut it. On that album, there were only 2 guitars tracked, so if one of them went to play a lead or a harmony, there was no more rhythm being played on that respective side.

I haven't noticed anything like this. If you're having the problem with multiple discs, maybe your lens needs cleaning. I dunno.. just trying to cover all bases.

I haven't seen the Clone Wars animated movie, but the only possible way it could have improved upon the miniseries is in visual value. The miniseries was absolutely perfect.

I hope you didn't end up seeing it. You can't follow Thomas Jayne as the Punisher.

I just came somewhere in the middle of season 4 thanks to a marathon on tv. So let me get this straight... Foreman, Chase, and Cameron all got fired/quit at the end of season 3. Now they're all back in the hospital, just not all under House's command? And when did Cameron get frumpy, and why is she in scrubs? I saw all the way through the episode with the bus accident, which was pretty hokey. Ok, I can see hypnosis, or electrical treatment to jump start your memory, but not to go back as a visitor in your subconscious and look around for clues. That's a little too sci-fi.
