U2 would be a good choice. Probably the best. But other big acts could be considered. But seeing GNR open could bring them new fans. Also Axl could release more music. Music we haven't heard yet. And more importantly let your fans know that you're touring. But what do I know. I'm just a fan.

Damn shame, I was still hoping to see Aerosmith live one day.I guess this makes the chance of that happening all the more slim.
Same here. Never saw Aerosmith live. I guess all good things must come to an end unfortunately.

I think that means whenever he shows up you have to show up. So while if some dates are canceled you may get away with it, you're still looking at some serious bus time in canada

Nah! It means that the fans should start treating this band the same way Axl does. Obviously Axl doesn't give a rats ass about GNR so maybe we shouldn't give a rat's ass.

I know I'm gonna get flamed for this. But if Axl really wanted to go on tour he should've done so as an opening band for a major touring act.

This saddens me. Aerosmith is one of my favorite bands. And a rotten way to end such a great band.

Official boots would be cool. Even if it isn't every show...i'd be happy with a full show pro-shot somewhere on this tour being released to us - either as a dvd/bd or online via the website or something like that.
It'd be great for those of us not in asia/canada to get a peep at what the new songs are like live and what the new line up is like, and i'm much prefer to see that in pro-shot footage that does it justice than from a phone cam in the 20th row on youtube.
I must also echo the thoughts pf the poster earlier who called for the camera operators/editors to be more clued in about who is playing what. It's my personal pet peve that when someone is playing an impossible shred solo - in a ton of video clips - the camera will zoom up to the rhythm player and follow him around for a while before they figure out he isn't the one soloing, and then you've missed all the good stuff.
For example the fan-vid of TWAT in NYC - where it focuses on Richard and Robin during bumble's outro solo. But that was probably because it was crowd shot...but i'd love to see something better come along this tour. Something professionally shot to share this tour with the fans!
They could make lots of money if they did it every show. I'm sure that some people here would probly buy them all. I wish Axl would wake up and realise it's not 1988 anymore. Oh well. One of the reasons I'm not going to this tour is that I'm taking a stance that I'll care for this band just as much as Axl does.

Actually, I know noone goes there but incase anyone does, am I the only one that the official site kind of freezes and crashes when I open it? Its like it sticks and I cant navigate away or scroll up and down, its been like that for me for months.
It's just you. That's because you wish they would update the site and somehow Axl heard you in your head and asked personally that the gnr site does that to you. There lesson learned. Don't be so demanding.

I'd love to be able to download a pro mastered recording of all the shows they play, it would be helluva special to get one of the show you had attended in particular.
I'd love for them to start doing a lot of simple things for the fans as well, open dialogue from time to time, i.e. updating the website, would be a breath of fresh air.
5 weeks tonight till they hit the stage, it would be awesome if they have something up their sleeve to generate some positive publicity.
But they did update the site! Didn't you see that DJ Ashba has joined the band? So they updated the site. Jeez them GNR fans sure are hard to please.

what i would like to see from GNR this time round is the following:
- a bigger, more custom made stage....it was sad to see them on a small stage in 06/07...they're a big band, they need a custom made stage...interesting layout, ups and downs, something which extends into the crowd...all those things...i want to get excited the way U2 fans get excited when they see their setup...
- more interesting use of the screens....i was bored by those in 06/07....either change the shape of them, or have one fucking big one...or whatever else you can think of....but that standard shit...too entry level for me...
- better camera operators...this is a must...not all of us are in the front row, and we have to rely on the screens to see what the band is up to on the stage...and i I'd want to see Ron during the final November Rain solo, and not Tommy....the operators need to be briefed on who plays what in the set, and they must follow them accordingly.
- better pyro....same here, it felt a bit low rent last time round...there is choice out there for some exciting pyro effects and confetti canons, and they could perhaps try and employ something a bit more interesting here too...
overall, I'd like a unique show to GNR only.
EDIT: also, the option to buy/download the show you just went to see is an ace idea...
And it may sound expensive but I was happy to cough the extra 10 dollars to have this to remember by. And like I said the audio quality is really good for a bootleg. Plus Metallica has put up a cd sleeve and cd covers to print to make it as official as can be. So really it is quite awesome and I wish more bands would do this. Plus more cash for them really.

I would LOVE for GNR to do this.
And I'm willing to bet they won't do it. Shame really.
